This chart just made me realize how talented Jay really is. He makes the simplest shit sound so intricate. That's not downplaying what he did on this song at all. Idk what he does with his feet, but it's not human. I can't think of another drummer that I listen to at least, that can do that with a kick. Idk if you know what I mean (I am shit with terminology, ironic because I played percussion in band.)

Now if you mean feel, there's definitely something to Jay, I can see it, but there are a few who have a distinct bass pedal technique that resonates well(at least with me) like Danny Carey or Gene Hoglan

@@sodamlazy You should definitely try ankle motion, the reduction of exhaustion it's really impressive, the technique it's kinda weird (for me), but I think it can be helpful to you to reach constant and higher speed. Cheers and keep doing amazings charts.

yeah the swivel thing probably comes naturally as a last resort but you can learn to control it. not really possible to play anything too much faster than this +200bpm without it. It just feels weird 😁

Great playthrough! Though the pre chorus where you're playing the 8ths on the ride with the snare blast is supposed to be 16ths on the ride. The only way I can think that he did this is that they tracked the ride pattern after the original playthrough.
