Abraham bartered with God, over sodom and gamora. That shows you how much this man loved and valued life, he was willing to barter for not only the lives of the righteous but for those of the unrighteous. Imagine how pleased the lord probably was that Abraham was for life, that he allowed him to barter down to 10 righteous people. But here’s the reality of things today there are no men today that would barter like this and even more there is no man alive today that God has this relationship with as to even hear or let them. All we have is the deadline to preach and spread the message of salvation to try and save as many as possible. And times running out.
@MrMattinthahat
@MrMattinthahat 2 жыл бұрын
There was no bartering, bartering involves both parties exchanging something, Abraham had nothing to offer, thus he was begging. Begging to the God that created everything not to kill good people. Thats terrible! Can you imagine begging your neighbor not to kill his family because 1 child acted out? NO! thats sick. You are all delusional.
@michaelschauf3542
@michaelschauf3542 2 жыл бұрын
My friend he bartered, all the way down to 10 people like if he was trying to barter for a better price. And btw it’s not like begging your neighbor not to kill his family over one child as the whole city was corrupt and wicked, except for Lot, his wife and his daughters. The angels literally let them try to warn others that had ties to the family but to no avail. More like asking your neighbor to spare the best child out of the family if you ask me.
@michaelschauf3542
@michaelschauf3542 2 жыл бұрын
Oh yea Abraham did have something to offer. Which was his love and respect for life. Which is why the lord allowed him to know what he was about to do. He had kindness and forgiveness to offer but sadly the lord was dead set on the destruction of sodom. But he did say to Abraham that if he could find 10 righteous that he would spare the city, and he only found four. So a deal is a deal. Therefore he bartered.

@@MrMattinthahat lol just another fine example of genocide by our loving God. It’s amazing that a mere human had more unconditional love for life even the unrighteous life in sodom and Gomorrah. Did not the humans in those cities have free will? Could they not have chosen at some point to change their ways? I guess we will never know since god decided for them just as he did for the world during the flood.
@user-ly2xw8to3t
@user-ly2xw8to3t 2 жыл бұрын
@@TwiStedZaP no love is unconditional, at least not from people and certainly not from God. If you look into the context you would see how the people gave themselves to sin. Every time we sin God gets very angry and His wrath is upon everyone who isn’t saved. We all fall short and deserve hell. No person is better than the other and we all deserve to go to the same place. But God does not want people to go to hell as stated in Ezekiel and evidenced by God Himself coming to die for us voluntarily so that anyone who turns from their sin and repents and places their trust in Jesus will be saved. The fact that God died for us is evidence enough that He loves us. Repent and believe.

@@baalsguestjar106 Sodom and Gomorrah is in the Bible, and one of the main purposes of the Bible is to ask us to repent and follow Christ. If we don't accept Christ and continue our evil ways, we will end up like the people in Sodom and Gomorrah. There was a reason for Sodom and Gomorrah to perish. ALL of the inhabitants were evil. God answered Abraham that if he finds any righteous people, he will spare the whole city. But, there was none. That is why God destroyed them. That's in Genesis 18:22-26 If any of them repented, God would've saved. If he has the power to destroy, he has the power to save. Jesus didn't only save Jerusalem, but the whole world by dying on the cross. Whoever accepts his sacrifice and repents, will be saved. God gives freedom of choice to his creations.

I know, it's a very hard thing to grasp. Like it was said, the effect of living in Sodom seemed to have had an influence on their morals (I've been drunk on wine before but...really?). And though the moabites and ammonites were to become thorns in the Israelites sides, there IS a happy ending to all of this. Read the book of RUTH (only four chapters long, about 20 minutes). Though Ruth was a moabite, her offspring would lead to King David; her offspring would lead to Our Savior! ☮️

He referred to these three servants of the Lord as Lord, which was a customary greeting, most people do not understand the significance of the way that they were greeted, or why he called them Lord, now they themselves were only Angels they were not the LORD himself, note that I capitalized all the letters of the word Lord that's proper usage for referring to Lord God Almighty, with only a capital l just refers to a lord in general as a standard greeting, see light Angels were always referred to and greeted as Lord, because whenever God sent an angel to visit someone to bring a messy or perform some tasks, he sent them with his power and his authority and they were called lord out of respect for the power and the authority that God sent them with, and that was customary !!

Wrong Abraham saw God in three Men ... standing next to God. And he worshiped the three, and treated them exactly the same ... and THEY told Abraham to do what he said he would do the THEM ... and one of the men spoke as the God head (father). Genesis 18 & 19 is about the Trinity and how it works. We all know God has a Spirit ... that is everywhere ... and ... can take multiple forms AT THE SAME TIME. Int the beginning .. God (plural) created (singular) the Heaven & the Earth. And God's Spirit is then hovering over the surface of the Earth .. which is everywhere . God(plural pronoun) created Man in His likeness ... and it is not good for Man ( or God) to be alone so from Man ( or God) can Woman ( or at least a God head & Spirit). Genesis 18 confirms God is THREE persons ... not that there are three Gods ... and they are male. So there is no God the mother, wife or daughter. God is simply a Father, Son & Spirit. Standing next to the Three Men(God) ... is God (the Spirit). Again. We know God the Spirit is everywhere ... and can take multiple forms at the same time. And one of the three men spoke alone as God meaning He is the Father. The Father ... is the God head ... and the will of God. It is the Father ... who ordered the creation of the Universe & Man. The Son & Spirit ... have freewill ... but always do the Father's will. This is why whatever the Son & Spirit say & do ... they are doing so as God. Genesis 19 ... has God (the Spirit) on earth .. calling down fire & brimstone onto sodom ... from God (Father & Son) in Heaven. Again. The Father is the God head .. and the will of God, and the Son & Spirit always do the Father's will. And only the Holy Spirit ... is everywhere ... and can take multiple forms at the same time ... because he's everywhere. This is how the Trinity works ... and why ... God(plural) created(singular) the Heaven & the Earth and why it is not good for Man ( or God) to be alone. There is only one of God's Kind. There is only one Mankind.

@abelincoln8885
@abelincoln8885 Жыл бұрын
@@michaeloppenheimer2582 Because this video believes Abraham was greeting & hosting these three men according to custom. You all wrongly used the two Angels in Genesis 19 ... to claim Genesis 18 is clear that Abraham "customarily" hosted God & two Angels .. or in your interpretation three Angels. The text is indeed clear ... that Abraham saw God as three Men ... standing next to God in another form. God said He will go to Sodom to see if wickedness is true ... and then the three Men left ... but God remained with Abraham to discuss saving the righteous. God doesn't need to take a human form ... then walk from Abraham's camp to Sodom to confirm if it is a wicked city. The text was telling us ... the three Men are God. Genesis 19 ... confirms God is singular & plural ... when God (the Sprit) on Earth ... called down fire & brimstone onto Sodom ... from God (Father & Son) in Heaven. Again. We know from the first 3 verses & chapters of Genesis .. hat God(plural) created (singular) the Heavens & the Earth. It is not good for God to be a ALONE ... Adam & Eve are one flesh (Man's Kind) .. and ... and the Spirit of God is everywhere & can take multiple forms at the same time. Issac is not ... Abraham's only begotten Son ... which is said THREE times in Genesis 22. Abraham knew with the Binding of Issac ... that God is a Father, Son & Spirit. This chapter is a Messianic prophecy ... where God will provide His only begotten Son ... to be the sacrifice ... that will satisfy God's just nature to punish all sin with death (body & soul). God made it clear that if Adam & Eve sin ... they and their descendants will die (body & soul). God must punish a body & soul ... to the sins committed by a body & soul. No animal sacrifice ... with satisfy God's just nature. Everybody will sin because we are descended from Adam & Eve ... and have a corrupted body which is our Mind & nature when alive. And once the body sins .. it corrupts the soul which becomes the Mind when the body dies. Every single human being ... descended from Adam & Eve ... will sin and God must punish them with death (body & soul). This is why God sent His Son .... with a perfect body & soul ... born of a virgin from Bethlehem which provided the year old lambs to be sacrificed at the Temple. The Torah is all about God's "Salvation" plan ... of the Children of God (Jesus) from the Children of Man(Adam). But to fully understand it you must know what Genesis 1 - 19 say about God, Messiah & God's Chosen People( Children). You clearly do not know what Genesis 1 - 3 says about God .. and why Elohim was used with a singular verb for create. So when Abrahams hosts three men and calls them Lord ... you wrongly concluded that he is just following custom and the three are Angels even though Chapter 18 never says any are Angels. smh.

At any rate his daughters allowed fear rule them. God said he have not given us a spirit of fear but of a sound mind. This could be one of the reasons why. When people fear they made irrational decisions. I pray God give you understanding of this. Amen.
