@Kirby march barcena : Let us assume all men and women of the cities sodom and gomorrah are wicked. We even assume that even the early teenage girl and boys of 11 years age also having same sex relationships.. Are the children below 10 years also having same xex relationships ? less than 5 year kids and 3 year kids ? less than 3 year kids also having same sex relationships ? Are the kids below 10, 5 and 3 years also sinners ? So are there no 10 individuals who are kids below 5 years of age in the entire city ? Please dont tell me that there are no kids in the those city. If they are having only same sex relationships and not giving birth to any child the city will die within 50 years. As they were doing that from quite a long time within 20 to 30 years the city will die with no new citizens. God do not have to nuke those 2 cities. What do u say ?

@@sarkarsarkar5543 "Let's us assume all men and women of the cities sodom and gomorrah are wicked", that phrase alone would make a justifiable reason to destroy a city...nukes nothwithstanding. With regards to "innocent" kids, I don't recall the two angels and Lot finding some of them. Otherwise, the trio would have done something to save them. Also, think about the agreement between Abraham and God. Good ole Abe only required God to not destroy the cities if they found 10 good people...I doubt that 9 & 1/2 will even be considered.

@@sarkarsarkar5543 I mean not neccesarily. If a city is so far gone that most of the town forms into a literal violent rape gang at one point it wouldn't be so far to say no children were there. You also have to consider the fact that tons and tons of insane depraved sex leads inevitably to tons and tons of horrible diseases. In all likelihood if a coty like that were allowed to "just die off" it would allow for those diseases to spread not to mention leave other areas open to violent rape gang attacks from the city. This is just me thinking through the issue as a thought experiment. Don't take it too seriously.

They did not believe his message. Lack of trust is not a good sign of good, wholesome, families relations. Perhaps they were not so innocent? I love how Abraham tried to bargain for Sodom and Gomorrah. “Surely there are good people among them. If there are 50 will you spare them?” “I will spare them if there are 50 good people among them.” “Actually 50 is a little too high, how about… 45.” “Fine.” Continues reducing the amount. “Actually… that’s still too much to scour a whole city for. How about 10.” “Ugh, yes, 10.” “What if it’s off by one or two?” “I’ll round up. Just for you, Abraham.”

Lot’s wife looking back is so symbolic of those who get stuck in the past. These are the people who can only think of “the good old days”. Lot’s wife is too attached to the life she had in Sodom and Gomorra that she loses herself. I also think it’s really cool that God says he won’t destroy the city if he can find 10 righteous. I guess the work of a small minority of good people are all it takes for an entire city doing bad to get away with their sins.

Actually one interpretation here is that Sarah didn't laugh about the promise for a baby. She laughed with a frisky anticipation to having sex with her husband: "So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?" (Genesis 18:12) And the Hebrew is ambiguous as to who she was afraid of. I think she was afraid not of God, but of Abraham. Because Abraham thinks she is laughing at his inability to perform sexually. But Peter says Sarah had respect for Abraham, calling him 'Lord in her heart" (1 Peter 3:6) So she was fearful of the miscommunication about the sex not directly about the baby

@@A90sChick I'm not talking about being gay or not, I'm talking about the biggest sin both Sodom and Gomorrah committed, which is "Pride", pride for feeling and believing themselves to be superior to anyone else, they mistreated foreigners arriving to their cities, they mistreated the poor and made many cruel acts against people who only wanted to also have an opportunity to prosper in those cities, they committed many sins but all because of their never ending pride.

@@A90sChick to be honest with you, I'll be far more concerned about the sin of pride, pride is by far the most destructive sin out there, just look at people who consider themselves superior to others, like the Egyptians did with the Jews, like supremacists do with other races, like when religions fight each other, instead of respecting the beliefs of others, like when people say: my country is superior to other countries, we are the best country in the world, or like when people mistreat and exploit others just because they feel they have to, because they feel like some kind of divine being. No one is superior to no one else, we are all humans, made out of flesh, blood and bones, we are all equal. Just look how huge the damage has been caused by Pride, millions dead, people killed by eugenics, families destroyed, land waste and more. Pride also creates greed, lust, anger, envy, and sloth.
@lrzero1362
@lrzero1362 11 ай бұрын
@@A90sChick now you'll ask how pride creates all of those sins, well when someone is greedy, they feel the urgency to have everything, to feel entitled to all wealth without sharing to the poor and needy, their pride tells them, I am the best no one is better than me I deserve all, they don't look out for their brothers who also deserve a fair share, not satisfied with what they have, they start destroying everything else, because of their never ending entitlement, just look at our environment, trees destroyed, forests gone. In envy, pride manifests in a way, that they feel that they deserve everything that others have, and with sloth people are so proud to the point that they feel that everything is a waste, that putting effort on something is not worth their time. The same thing happens with the other sins left, pride manifest in all of them.

Why she lied in his presence, when she know she laughed.
@BeardedBarley1
@BeardedBarley1 Жыл бұрын
Abraham also laughed at the fact that he would have a child in his old age but at another point in time. However, he didn’t lie about it. I think the idea of a child at their age simply tickled them. Though I’ve vacillated for many years over why Sarah lied, I have come to the conclusion after giving it much thought and deliberation with others that maybe Sarah lied about it because she was so desperate for a child she didn’t want God to think she was doggin’ on His gift...that she did laugh but not because of the reason for which she appeared to laugh. So she said she hadn’t laughed when, in reality, she had. But see here now that Abraham had come to know God’s character and that He knew what Abraham was thinking even before he thought it. Sarah had not known God in this way. So Abraham didn’t feel pressed to cover his actions whereas she did. Note then that Isaac, their promised child in their old age and barrenness, was named “Laughter”; and he married “Liar,” Rebekah’s name meaning. So their offspring/fruit, in essence, became “Deceptive Laughter” or “Satire.” It means “irony, sarcasm, or caustic wit used to attack or expose human foolishness or vice.” And Satire is exactly what God has often employed throughout Scripture with Abraham’s descendants through Isaac and Rebekah.

The story seems to show the way that sin stains the soul of those it comes in contact with. Lot's wife was destroyed along with the city for looking back at the sinful life she was leaving behind. Even though Lot and his daughters were able to escape the city, sin follows them and they commit disgusting acts. Though we may remove ourselves from sin, it has a very sticky way of latching onto us.

Hello guys, I’d liked to share my dream with you 🙂 It was night. I was standing out front. As everyone was heading to go inside, I felt a strange sensation throughout my body, shutting it down as I fell. I couldn’t speak or make any voluntary movements. I felt something grab me by my clothes from the back, dragging me into the darkness like a child would drag a large rag doll; legs outstretched and body hunched over. I saw my self crash into the hibiscus fence at the side of the yard, being slightly jacked up as an invisible force tried to drag me through the dense branches. I could feel an overwhelming evil. I was extremely panicked thinking there’s no one to see or help me. My niece walked out facing the road, and for a few seconds I struggled to get her attention but my physical body was still. Then it hit me, I said to my self “nahhhh man Koreen, you should known better!” I felt the fear and panic subsiding and said in my mind Jesus Jesus Jesus. Let me tell you that thing pressed an ejection button and sent me shooting out that dream because the way it got rid of me with quickness 😭🤣🙌🏾. “Jesus be a fence all around me everyday”

I had a dream also. It was a bunch of scary dolls in an altar or something and I felt an overwhelming fear that I wanted to run away. I tried to wake up but I realized I can't because my body is not moving. Like a force was trying to stop me from moving. Then I realized that something was speaking gibberish close to my left ear. I felt fear but I had faith that I can eventually get out of it and then I said "Lord" then slowly that force loosens its grip on me until it was gone. The power of God is really great!

It is very frightening to see what the prophecies in the Bible are telling us. People who thinks and believes that the Bible is some kind of Eastern Mythology,are sadly blinded to the factual realities that are highlighted in the Bible. Those to whom that revelation is given,do clearly see the unfolding events that are prophesied before their eyes,whiles those lacking that grace of the inner eye, see nothing more than some ancient folklore,mixed up with eastern myths and highlighted as doctrines of beliefs !

There’s a fundamental difference between lots, daughters and the male guests being handed to the townspeople. The daughters wanted children and were mentally prepared to be with men but the guests would have been beaten and held down as they got torn up and left for dead so it makes no sense to pass judgment on Lot. Even Lots wife may have been blinded by the flash and the salt pillar could be a translation

Loved the video. It's very clear and professional. You let the characters be destinct from one another instead of mixing them up with God which many people do - including myself - when first studying these Hebrew texts in a professional manner. It shows how good you are at reading. This chapter is a rather complex one because it's not just what people do as a whole but also how easily people can fall back on bad habits if they don't learn from their past. The evil that you do will be done to you. Great moral lesson to anyone regardless if you are religious, just spiritual or none.

My beloved people who shares the same God's scriptures, Prophets Lot's story is wrongly interpreted here, Indeed Lot was a great men as God mentioned him in Bible, that's why the people of sodom were cursed as they didn't heed to Lot's. May God forgive us for misinterpreting God's word, If we have doubt in understanding or any of the verses stories seems confusing from any of the scriptures. Indeed, there would be no harm for us to read or seek a bit of information from another scripture. Forget about the believe or name of that God, but atleast we can share and provide the stories of our beloved Messiah's, As we all are the people of Abraham. I will mention this story which is mentioned clearly in the Quran: Chapter name Hud 69] And verily, We Angels were sent to Abraham with glad tidings. They said: peace! He answered, peace! and he hastened to entertain them with a roasted calf. 70] But when he saw their hands went not towards the meal, he felt some mistrust of them, and conceived a fear of them. They said: "Fear not, we have been sent against the people of Lot. 71] And while his wife was standing there, she laughed. But We gave her glad tidings of Isaac, and after him, of Jacob. 72] She said (in astonishment): "Woe unto me! Shall I bear a child while I am an old woman, and here is my husband, an old man? Verily! This is a strange thing!" 73] They said: "Do you wonder at the Decree of your Lord? The Mercy of God and His Blessings be on you, O the family Abraham. Surely, God is All-Praiseworthy, All-Glorious." 74] Then when the fear had gone away from the mind of Abraham, and the glad tidings had reached him, he began to plead with Us with Our Angels, for the people of Lot. 75 Verily, Abraham was, without doubt, forbearing, used to invoke God with humility, and was repentant. 76] "O Abraham! Forsake this. Indeed, the Commandment of your Lord has gone forth. Verily, there will come a torment for them which cannot be turned back." 77] And when Our Angels came to Lot, he was grieved on their account and felt himself straitened for them . He said: "This is a distressful day 78] And his people came rushing towards him, and since aforetime they used to commit crimes, he said: "O my people! Here are my daughters, they are purer for you if you marry them lawfully. So fear God and degrade me not as regards my guests! Is there not among you a single right-minded man?" 79] The people of sodom replied: "Surely you know that we have neither any desire nor in need of your daughters, and indeed you know well what we want!" 80] Lot said: "Would that I had strength men to overpower you, or that I could betake myself to some powerful support to resist you." 81] The Angels said: "O Lot! Verily, we are the Messengers from your Lord! They shall not reach you! So travel with your family in a part of the night, and let not any of you look back, but your wife will remain behind, verily, the punishment which will afflict them, will afflict her. Indeed, morning is their appointed time. Is not the morning near?" 82] So when Our Commandment came, We turned the towns of Sodom upside down, and rained on them stones of baked clay, piled up; 83] Marked from your Lord, and they are not ever far from the evil-doers.

Ultimately, what this story shows is how God is good to believers, even when they are stupid and do not do what he asks--even in the face of being told over and over exactly what to do or not do...his mercy is boundless and he is good even in the face of the ultimate bad behavior--in his face, so to speak...thanks be to God for his infinite mercy...we are blind and cannot see...we are deaf and cannot hear...we do not understand what we are doing and how great God is...thanks be to God...many, many thanks...we have so much to be thankful for...we give ultimate gratitude...thank you, God...dts/usa

See I couldn't understand this story when i read it the first time. It's clear now. I suppose one of the reasons is my sin nature wouldn't change even if i knew the story. I think that having a personal relationship with someone you can't see is like an ac current. It for myself is at times really not reality and other times in small doses is really powerful and deepest reverence. For myself that sort of thing came when i thought i had covid and was really sick. I saw everything in a different light. I cry sometimes that i renew my faith to that level. But I don't know why i can't do it again.

this is a fascinating story, as it explains how despite the forces of Good's best efforts in cleansing the world of evil, human nature makes so that it is endlessely perpetuated. I believe that Lot represents it very well, as he is, unlike Abraham, cowardly, and his lack of courage ultimately makes him no better than the city of rapists he left.
@dizasteroid7
@dizasteroid7 3 жыл бұрын
In the Jewish tradition it's hinted that Lot knew of the power of God through the miracle's that befell Abraham at the hands of Nimrud. God revealed through Abraham that the idols of akkadia were powerless and that the power of Nimrud was subject to the will of God as well. The first crowned King on Earth was subject to the will of God as well as the idols of the first empire on earth. Abraham was supposedly under the tutelage of Shem during the time that Nimrud believed him to be dead. Lot would likely have become aware of this at one point before Abraham's covenant with God. To call Lot a coward would be slanderous as he was more righteous than we. The strangers that appeared to Lot and Abraham were recognized as being otherworldly. There was some trait or manner about them that made it apparent they were not mortal men. Lot knew they were Messengers of God. Lot made it known that he would sacrifice his own children for the sake of God just as Abraham made it known that he would personally sacrifice his son out of his own faith knowing that the God who gives life to all is powerful enough to protect life as well as restore life. The sacrifice was a gesture of faith and not some cruel requirement of a testy deity. Lot's faith in God is not under question but his faith in himself and his ability to protect and provide for his family.

good point, and God spared Lot's family as a request of Abraham, even though there were actually no "good" people left in the city, including Lot and his family. There has to be something to this notion, as Lot's daughters went on to sire the creation of the Moabites and Ammonites, which later Hebrews would recognize as being a very, very bad thing. Not only would they be competitors with the Hebrews for land and resources, and had many wars with one another over all of that, but some of the worst acts and beliefs imaginable thrived among the two other nations. Specifically, baal and all the awful things that come from that religion and its wicked adherents, but even worse, molech through the Ammonites. The Moabite religion was pretty gnarly, as attested to biblically when they'd corrupt Hebrew men and women and lead them to idolatry and other sinful behavior. Elija vs the prophets of baal at the behest of jezebel and ahab, for example. The Ammonites, with their god molech who was possibly the most prominent deity in association with child sacrifice, were even worse. So though Lot and his daughters were saved from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the evil and wickedness seemed to follow through all the way from Abraham and Lot's time, to Judah's destruction when the Babylonians carried off most of the jews and put them into captivity. Possibly even unto today, right this very minute, if the current crop of world aristocratic and oligarchical elites really are molechian, as seems to be evident to me.

Verily! The cities have been exhumed. Sulfur rocks, bones, building foundation stones, skulls and pottery are everywhere. An 8 mile radius between these two settlements is completely desolate to this day and full of these artifacts. Estimates are 500,000 deaths in a sudden cataclysmic singular event. You can still pick up and light these sulfur rocks and they burn intensely. The sulfur concentration in these rocks is higher than anywhere else on earth, and it’s not even close. And there is indeed a petrified pillar. There was never another human settlement built on those two locations.

If you research the original Hebrew and Greek he didn't offer his daughters but instead said he had a daughters that never knew men and that the mob should not touch them or the visitors.

It was basically a misdirection tactic. He and his family were trapped. Any rational person would basically say anything to escape being raped and killed. Lot was pretty much giving those guys a chance and buying him and his some time to figure out an escape plan.
