Soft Pellet Fishing On The Waggler - Expanders & Small Carp
For this latest episode we headed to a very wet Reepham fishery to try and catch a few fish using the waggler and soft pellets.
The water we opted to fish was the ‘Bungalow’, a lake which is stuffed full of small Carp, Tench, Skimmers and Roach - all of which love eating soft expanders!
To find out exactly how we got on watch this latest instalment, from the waters edge.
As usual we hope you enjoy it and any feedback is always much appreciated.

Nice one again guys. I quite like fishing in that sort of weather...usually means you get the lake to yourself!! Them little Exage reels are great for float fishing. Great to catch in any weather, and brilliant camera work.

Haha, you're right there Mike! :-) I'm definitely looking forward to some better weather though... hopefully! Haha. The Exage is a cracking little reel, excellent value for money too. Hope your fishing is going well, tight lines, cheers Chris.

Another great video and those little Carp were lovely looking things, such nice condition. I caught a fantail at a fishery near where i live as well as a goldfish and a koi/crucian hybrid. Just wondering why did you hold the rod couldnt you have used a butt rest and feeder arm?
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the video! You could rest the rod on a rest, but sometimes when fishing like this the bites are very delicate, so you need to be super reactive and hit the smallest of movements - it's obviously easier to do this with the rod in your hand. Good questions though. :-) Thanks again and hope your fishing is going well and that you've been catching a few!

@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Frans, thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😊 I believe we used a loaded waggles in this video, so the weight was allround the base of the float, ensuring a nice slow drop through the water column.

When fishing soft pellet or even banded pellet on the waggler, how would you fish it? High in the water, just on the bottom or over-depth? Thanks👍🎣
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 3 жыл бұрын
It depends Andy. If the fish are up in the water then we'd fish it that way, if not probably just touching bottom.

great video , I fish virtually the same method with the soft hookers but I feed hard pellets , do you think its better to feed the expanders
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind comments mate, glad you enjoyed it! We like to feed the expanders as they sink slower through the water column - like your hook bait. It allows you to possibly intercept a fish or two as your bait is falling.

Have to ask...why on earth don't you use a brolly? Nice bag of stockies anyway, I love waggler fishing, much more preferable to me than the pole.
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV

Haha... I know what you mean Clive, I asked Steve exactly the same question! Its a little more awkward to fish under a brolly.

Glad to see i'm not the only nutter fishing in the crap weather! Been hard work the last month really. Rain and wind. You're also using exactly the same float! Ideal for large perch. And I occasionally use the same hooker pellet. Pain getting them on the hook but I've had 17lb carp in the margin off those.

Awesome video, i can learn a lot from that. Why did you use a loaded float there; due to the wakes and the wind? And how did you set your shots on the line? Subbeb with kind regards from germany, pat
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV
@FromTheWatersEdgeTV 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind comments mate, glad you enjoyed the video. We used an insert waggler because most of the weight is around the float, this means you're bait sinks slower (more like your loose feed) it also means there's more chance of intercepting a fish on the drop or up in the water. :-) Hope that helps and thanks for the sub! :-) Hope your fishing is going well. Tight lines.

The soft hooker pellets don't Henry, you can hook them straight on. Hard feed pellets would need banding though.
