Nice spot, if it's true 🌟 but in general, yellow and blue go really well together. I also love blue and black as a combination, and black and gold.

Lovely. Your voice and mind synchronize so well that you take me on some kind of hypnotic journey with these maps. Huge map that made me realize how Denmark is so separated into islands. So many bridges connecting them I did not really recognize that fully when I was there long ago. Can see how the Danes really needed to establish their maritime prowess. The yellow nails and blue jumper blend really well together. That needle is magic🙂

As an American of Danish descent, I was thrilled to find this video! I have been trying to learn the language for 30+ years and can confirm that the pronunciation is next to impossible, but you actually did a good job!

Aw thank you! I have to say, Danish is the most intimidating language I've come across so far. It's so nice to hear that Roskilde still takesplace. I remember it being shown on MTV in the 90s and it looked like the coolest place in the world to me.

Well, I can say you said Skagerrak and Kattegat right, as my ancestors are from those areas. My last name is the Anglicized version of the northernmost town/city in Denmark: Skagen, which Anglicized is Scoggin, my name! Apparently they’re pronounced exactly the same way (if what I’ve read and watched is actually right and not dumbed down for us tourists!🤣). I’m American but I’d love to hop across the pond and visit Denmark, especially Skagen and Copenhagen (and Germany too-I want to go to Munich and eat a pretzel at Hofbrauhaus! I can’t really drink due to medical reasons but the pretzels look divine!😂) This video was lovely as always! Denmark got me to tear myself away from your fabulous Middle Earth video!

Honestly, your pronounciation of the Danish words is actually quite good. I'm Danish myself (from Aalborg), so I should know. When you pronounce "Skagerrak" the g is soft, almost silent, so it's more like "Skaerrak" and in the word "fjord", the d is silent. Other than that, it's fine👍
@MelangeASMR2 жыл бұрын
Aah thank you, I'm glad to hear that! Honestly, I watched one video on the silent d and how to pronounce it and knew it wasn't going to happen 😅 But apparently the Germanic background did help somewhat, at least haha.

Good video👍 Quick tip, the g’s and the d’s are silent if they aren’t the first letter in the word.
@MelangeASMR Жыл бұрын
I appreciate the tip, but I think me and the Danish language don't really have a future 😅
@SwiffyDK Жыл бұрын
@@MelangeASMR That's fine, if you just pronounce it with silent d's and g's, you basically have it all perfect. Germanic languages are similar and easy to learn in my opinion. Like when I learned German pretty easy as a Dane, because there were close similarities.
@MelangeASMR Жыл бұрын
You make it sound so easy haha The funny thing is I can understand some written Danish, since it's so close to Norwegian, but when I listen to it, not a chance. I do think the sounds are quite challenging.

I think the only thing you'd have needed to make a non butchered danish sounding pronounciation would be to try not articulating g and d at the end of sylables. Otherwise fine, although slightly swedish sounding.
