Lgio is a madman and a genius. The below the map stuff is something a lot of the pros have used since it was discovered. The devs confirmed that they will not alter this feature. In their words, he can keep his drones lol. Could you make a tree out of factory materials? Like a tree of storage or energy or something like that?

Just as a FYI: If you haven't unlocked "Particle Acceleration" yet then you aren't really ready for nuclear power in the game (IMO). The fuel rods will produce waste which for Uranium waste can be recycled via Particle Accelerators and turned into other fuel rods. They can be either used for more power (creates permanent waste, so can not be recycled) or be sunk to get rid of the waste.

Good call. I had planned to just make a magneto prison in the sky to store waste until I unlocked plutonium cells or whatever it's called. I had a helpful user in my discord reach out and let me know some of the requirements for nuclear and I decided to delay it on stream because of that

@@Krakenfall I did that, wen faaaaaaar off my base to store the waste, even further then my Powerplants already were... turns out the more waste you put in there, the further the radiation reaches... at first i was like, "meh just gonna stack like 12 industrial storages on top of each other..." but then i noticed how radiation stacks...

@@Krakenfall Well, the radiation from that is getting worse the more waste you stack. Not to mention that you have to go there once in a while to add more storage (so the waste doesn't back up and stops the power production) which will also be a bad thing. So without recycling you either need to rush there and the building of the recycling (Kibitz did that and it wasn't great) or you need to have a literal mass storage for waste. And the worst thing would be the clean-up of said waste. Nuclear power really needs to be calculated through thoroughly. Any backup of waste is extremely bad.

It should be noted that when Josh is doing most of these earlier videos, he's still on Update 2. There are not even pipes or water in the game yet for him, which are now required for nuclear power after Update 3. One of his later videos requires him to retrofit all his nuclear plants due to the water update.

The Sour Patch kids thing might just be if you eat the sugar free ones. Sugar free candies are notorious for their laxative properties. Basically the artificial sweetener isn’t digestible so instead of being absorbed by your small intestine it gets disposed of through your large intestine, and it absorbs water like a mofo so things get messy.

Oh, by the way... I've heard that the hitboxes of those huge trees don't match up well with the graphics, and the dev map of upcoming work definitely lists it as an area that will be getting improvements. So that Kashyyyk project probably belongs at the end of the list.

8:42 The way many game engines handle terrain is that you have one global terrain with the basic height map for every coordinate - but that can only handle so much detail. For regular "ground" it works well, paint a texture on it, place some plants and clutter, and you're good. But that can't do more detailed rock faces too well, and overhangs are impossible because every horizontal coordinate can only have one height value each. Because of that, cliffs are done by placing other large objects on the edges of the terrain to model them out. So you end up having at least one rock face (more at intersections or more detailed spots), with the ugly weirdly stretched base terrain behind it. These days they've gotten pretty good at blending the seams or hiding them under clutter, but if you know what you're looking for, you can recognize them pretty easily at the top of any cliff.

the walls under ground is due to coffee stain reusing same static model assets over and over for different parts of the game world, these assets then have to have a texture and hitbox all around it or else will look weird. also, fyi i know of 1 place on the coast of the dune desert where you can get to the underworld without glitching through wall/ground using trains. there is a hole in the cliff face where they didnt fully line up the big stone assets they used to make the cliff face. possible there are other places like that all over the place but its the only one i have found myself

9:10 they ususally build the similar way as in nature where u have the tectonic plates going under each others. They do not care the part what is under ground cause u not suposed to see. Every game have this stuff if u manage to clip through walls / ground somehow usually bug / lag / hack. Most game where u have water the entire map underground have a layer of water and they place the a "sheet ground layer" and aplay some Z coordinate changes like noize.

you can't compare the progress of Krakenfall and Josh : in this game, the tiers are mostly different, including alu, and coal and nuclear don't need water (yet!), and there are no other liquids, pipes and gas. there is another future episode where he needs to adjust everything :-)

Explosives here don't really interact with eachother so I think you can comfortably detonate hundreds at once without the game dying. And by think, I mean I know because I did it in the red forest when I was clearing space for my nuclear power plant. Actually.... I think I made a video of that and put it up on my channel in private to show to a friend.... yep! It's still there, 20 seconds of tree destruction.

Nuclear power is a bit of a once started you can't stop building cause the radiation will spread so 1 be sure you know what your doing 2ve prepared to rarely visit the power plants 3 until you have particle accelerators unlocked is just throw all the waste in a few industrial storage

SO the sour patch kids thing, the sour coating they put on it is extremely acidic and can cause issues with your enamel and can make your mouth so raw it can bleed. The one you were thinking of was the sugar free gummy bears. Multiple people tried to do youtube videos where they ordered 5 pound bags of the sugar free gummy bears online that contain the sweetner Xylitol, which can cause diarrhea and gas when consumed in large amounts.

Hi Krakenfall If you want to see what you can build under the map. I recommend the video by Im Kibitz (100% Maxed out Factory). He once looked at a world that is from one of his subscribers. The World Builder had over 2000 hours of play in the world at the time. For example, he connected the whole world with trains and (if I'm not mistaken) built a whole city (factory) under the water in the Void. I can highly recommend the video to you. Maybe even for your next reaction 😉👍

I would say the giant rocks are more for resource savings. If you only have to load one resource into your RAM then you can manipulate that and not have to load additional resources and slow your game down.
