Shower upon him every earthly blessing, drown him in a sea of happiness, so that nothing but bubbles of bliss can be seen on the surface; give him economic prosperity, such that he should have nothing else to do but sleep, eat cakes and busy himself with the continuation of his species, and even then out of sheer ingratitude, sheer spite, man would play you some nasty trick. He would even risk his cakes and would deliberately desire the most fatal rubbish, the most uneconomical absurdity, simply to introduce into all this positive good sense his fatal fantastic element. It is just his fantastic dreams, his vulgar folly that he will desire to retain, simply in order to prove to himself--as though that were so necessary-- that men still are men and not the keys of a piano, which the laws of nature threaten to control so completely that soon one will be able to desire nothing but by the calendar. And that is not all: even if man really were nothing but a piano-key, even if this were proved to him by natural science and mathematics, even then he would not become reasonable, but would purposely do something perverse out of simple ingratitude, simply to gain his point. - Fyodor Dostoevsky

@Jbonejacon I've never met an addict who considered themselves strong. It's the nature of the addiction to be weaker than the draw to the substance and the driving force of why they turned to it in the first place. Addicts numb because their life is unbearable. And they often do things that go against even their own wishes/moral compass. I get what the person meant that by simply being alive and trying to self-medicate they are not weak, but I disagree. It's the difference between being a victim and a survivor. Addiction furthers the trauma and addicts continuously victimize themselves because of it. There is nothing wrong with showing weakness, but strength comes from overcoming, not numbing. It's a healing process.

I'm not reading, like seemingly everyone else here, that she's a confident woman, I think she's making certain life decisions out of a trauma response. I hope she'll be ok.

Her statement of: "I did my eyes because every time I look in the mirror I see my ex" is telling that her choices are a direct result of her toxic relationship. She is erasing who she was before because she sees that person as the person who 'got herself' into that situation and to change that, she turned herself into something completely different. She's a beautiful girl, no matter what I and I wish her nothing but happiness and success....I just hope she realizes that no amount of body modification will change who she is on the inside or her heart.....she needs to heal and be happy with who she is....because SHE is not the problem....and SHE shouldn't have to change who SHE is because of these people. The people who are WRONG...are the people in her life who made her feel less than and THEY are the nothing she feels she had to change from. Could be wrong but I read it all over her face -- and being that I came from some pretty toxic relationships, I understand the need to 'cover up' the emotion through changing your appearance or your lifestyle so you don't get hurt. Because you feel like....if you look different, or do things you normally wouldn't, or take risks you wouldn't have before, life will BE different. You want to look like you are empowered to live as you wish and this will show those who hurt us or others who try to.... just how far you're willing to go to show how far you are willing to change to feel 'free' and 'normal'. Wishing you nothing but the best sweet girl....you deserve it and are so young and have a whole life ahead of you.....and I pray to God, you know the whole world is rooting for you! Peace and love. Always.

Your second sentence nails it. She reminds me of sexual abuse victims who become obese as a way to protect themselves from further abuse. It's like turning your body into a fort to keep people away. Though it sounds like the way she looks has actually driven away nice guys and attracted abusers.
@heatherhunt1472 жыл бұрын
@@ZombolicBand She could have. Yes. But when you are in that situation mentally you're thinking it's you that's the problem not what happened to you. I speak from experience so I'm not just your run of the mill psychoanalyst wanna be (that and being a mental health nurse back in the day - I understand trauma etc.) and when you are in that situation, you are 'conditioned' to feel like the issue is you....and even if you get out of those relationships, the mental toll lasts your whole life. Some people are able to move forward with no problem and get help, while others, they just don't understand they need it because they see it as THEY are the issue and may even believe they deserved it. So they don't seek therapy. Also, the stigma around seeking help - especially in the circles she seems to be in - can cause people to find other ways to 'get help' (i.e. body dysmorphia, body augmentation of any kind etc.) because that is what helps their pain. It makes them look like they have it together and are handling their issues just fine. So, while she COULD have it's a matter of what support in it does she have and is she even ready mentally? It's all about individual experience my friend. Some can get help and know how - others not so much. :)
@heatherhunt1472 жыл бұрын
@@thatwasweird954 Absolutely! She's protecting herself. It's a shield to block out the pain. She was using sex at 16 years old (she said she was doing 'dates' and sexual favors were a yes) and the support she got seemed like it was 'do you' rather than parental guidance on right and wrong. And I think we've all seen enough of these and other stories where, sites like that where Doctors, Lawyers et al use teenagers as their personal sexual playground leave a mental trail of pain and anxiety because they are adults, who are sworn to protect children- but are using them like that. And I am sure not all of it was glitz and glam. They are power hungry monsters who prey on the vulnerable to get what they want. And that HAS to have a lasting sexual abuse mentality to it. Throw in her own father said she was worthless and nothing. That's got to just hurt. And that is true about nice guys being 'driven away'. It could have it's negative effects that way as far as her relationships go. Not everyone can see past the outside appearance she's made and she could be missing out BUT if someone really loves her...none of what is on the outside will matter and I would hope that she can now recognize the signs of an abuser and break the cycle before she gets in too deep and something REALLY bad happens to her. The only sad part is what is done is done as far as the body modifications go. Unless she has tons of money to 'undo' what has been done - that will be her life. So, all we can do is not judge her and pray that she finds that true happiness and gets help to overcome the mental illness and pain she's endured. It's still fresh (she said 2 months ago she ended another bad relationship) so she has time to figure it out....but you're right....she may have a difficult road ahead of her. :)

There’s definitely trauma involved in wanting to look like that and completely undress/touch yourself for strangers every single day, and her reasons for doing these things to herself are more reflective of having not truly dealt with the mental abuse she went through in therapy, and so many of these people have parents who kick them out, which is also rotten. Her parents are alcoholics too….so much so, to the point where she completely avoided substances. I know people who grew up that way too, and bc of that trauma, they will never touch drugs or alcohol. She has a LOT of trauma, she has extremely impulsive behavior due to the extreme highs and lows of bipolar disorder, and a lot of her excuses for these modifications are to convince everyone else, including herself, that she’s okay. “I love myself.” -the toxic mantra of this current generation. She prostituted herself in high school and “forgot to mention” that. She was avoiding that truth. Siblings from multiple partners. Very alcoholic parents. She’s had a deeply traumatic life.

Thankyou Mark, for another great interview. I love Orylan, she's so pure of heart. If only we could live in a world without prejudice. I identify & relate with the battle she faces regarding acute anxiety and severe depression, its so fucking hard to deak with. I remember saying to my father once, after he'd told me my issues were 'all in my head...' yeah, my mind being the most powerful part of me... I digress, I said I'd rather break every bone in my body rather than have a psychological illness. Bones heal after breaking, they're weaker, but healed. With a mental illness, that shit can be tamed or masked with meds, but mostly it never goes away and to live with it every waking moment 24/7 is hard, so damn hard. I empathise with Orylan on so many levels. She has so much trauma which is undealt with, I hope she allows herself yo receive and accept the help she needs with that. Medication is not a bad thing, but I also understand her choice to opt to live without the aid of meds. Also, being a non drinker and anti drugs is awesome, she could've so easily gone down that route. Unfortunately it was the path I inevitably found myself on, after living with similar ailments as Orylan, and she's right, in the log run it does nothing but destruct She's seen this with her own paren6s, many children of alcoholics will follow in their footsteps, or realise how fucked up it is and give a wide berth, as Orylan has, I have the utmost respect for that choice. She seems wise beyond her years, yet her pain is barely concealed and that's upsetting to watch. She didn't reveal as much as she did on No Jumper, she's been very careful when stating ages for certain things on this interview. She was actually 15, when she began her toxic relationship, he was her mother's tattoo artist and in his late 20's. So the reasoning behind some of her body mod choices like the eye tatts for example, once she has sought help to deal with the untreated trauma regarding that relationship, there may be regrets. I honestly hope there isn't, but she's still so young She gives herself a hard time over how she earns her money too, I hope that isn't something which she will continue to berate herself with. I find the butterfly tattoo choices fascinating too, it really reflects and reveals how she views herself. I wish her all the best for her future , it's crazy how as a Christian, the most abuse she receives is from other Christians! Thou shall not judge? Religious folk are the most judgemental out there! That's all I've got to say on religion! ✌🏾 & 💜 people, be kind to one another!

The bad relationship, the bipolar, the PTSD and whatever caused the PTSD, alcoholic parents, are all traumas in your formative years, when your brain is still developing. A childhood of neglect and abuse isn't always so obvious like being beaten up or starving, her saying she had a good childhood, while also mentioning alcoholism, abusive dad's girlfriend, toxic environment and her dad saying she is trash and will never accomplish anything? While constantly saying 'they're great, he's great, they are amazing' shows she still has work to do in terms of identifying what was not actually normal and not normal for a kid to experience and to stop defending irresponsible adults. Doesn't mean you have to cut them out but definitely confront them and do not allow them to cross your boundaries again. That toxic relationship was a direct consequence of her childhood and lack of self-confidence and worth. Modifying your body permanently because of some abusive guy is so sad, but we all make decisions like these for the wrong reasons. She herself said she didn't like looking in her eyes anymore she wanted to change them. That is not self love, it's self hate. So glad she doesn't turn to alcohol and drugs. Wish her the best.

When he asked if the tattoos were a call for attention she denied it, yet it's a big thing for her to look "different" to other people. If I was walking past them on the street I would probably not notice them, but in the photo I feel almost forced to look them and look them in the eyes and I can't help feeling nothing but respect for them.

Great interview. She is creating herself, which so many people are afraid of. She loves herself and, in turn, projects that outwards. Orylan is absolutely gorgeous inside and out and has a bright future.

She starts talking about her happy childhood and her loving family, but then trauma after trauma comes up. Alcoholic parents, abuse by older man, a bad relationship etc etc. I went through a bad relationship myself from age 17 till 21. After that I decided to travel instead of getting tattooed. And I am so happy for that. She has put herself in a position where she has few options to get out of the sex industry. Instead of a pretty doll, she's turned into an extreme version, but she's still seen exclusively as a sexual object by men. Although I love her looks... She makes it really hard for herself to find a normal job by looking like this. I didn't fully heel from my bad relationship after way past my 25 years of age. And looking back I don't regret, but do think I could have done things differently if I had the wisdom and strength I have right now. I think she is well spoken and sounds smart and wise, but I question if she already started to heel...

I get your point but she has also stated vehemently she does not want a conventional job... We do not know if she is good at something (e.g. drawing) or if she has some hobby she can monetize. And even if she does not, she can learn and turn that into her livelihood Ps: non native here, so despite any mistake I'd have made, I hope the message is conveyed

Diagnostically: borderline personality disorder = chaotic relationships, impulsivity, self-harm, diffuse sense of self, chronic depression and anxiety, ambiguous boundaries, etc. So many people diagnosed with bipolar disorder are misdiagnosed and actually have borderline personality disorder. Etiology: childhood trauma. Like so many people interviewed on this channel, she reports a good childhood. As the story unfolds she talks about experiences in childhood that any mental health provider would classify as trauma.

I didn’t do anything permanent to my body, but I was also in a toxic relationship from 19-21. After that, I hated all men and wanted to make myself ugly. I dyed my hair yucky crayon box colors, wore ill fitting clothes, and just generally looked like shit…. All in an attempt to make myself “undatable” and, in my mind, “safe from men.” I’m thankful every day that I recovered from my emotional pain. I hope this young lady find healing for her heart.

If she is looking for safety from men and be undatable, stripping and only fans is not really the way to go.

I was in a highly physically and emotionally abusive relationship from the time I was 14 until the time I was 19 it is what you make of it. I got constantly beaten with guns I got stabbed I got choked I got tazzed and guess what I made myself a better person, I never once use it as an excuse to let my life go to shit. A person can do what they choose with their own personal happenings, she chose the tattoo her face, that's what she chose. You chose to do whatever you did that's on you. Went on to be in couple more abusive relationships, but I most definitely don't have any hatred for men though.

She is so totally messed up and confused. She is afraid of monsters, but she has made herself into a monster. She doesn’t want people to judge her, but she judges others. She had a “wonderful childhood” but unpacking her story demonstrates that she had an incredibly dysfunctional childhood and adolescence. She says she doesn’t want to look like what her ex boyfriend wanted her to look like, but she is still caught up in his manipulations with her choices of body modifications to look different to what he demanded that she looked like. She wants to be in a healthy relationship, but she keeps choosing toxic boyfriends. She doesn’t want to have a conventional job, but she hates how being a prostitute makes her feel (fact: she’s a prostitute because she sells her body for sex). She says she is choosing to make explicit videos, but she hates the pressure of making them. She says she loves herself, but she wants to destroy her natural body features. Her poor choices have led to her problems with depression and anxiety.
