I couldnt understand how people got addicted to this stuff. For me the "High" only lasted like a min or so and ide have to keep smashing the bottle. And I seen people fry there brains on this stuff. Glaxaygas need's to be shut down. People doing as a 1 off is ok is the right setting with real stuff. But its a unregulated market just like any legal stuff.

I worked for a dentist who liked to "do the gas". Dental offices at that time has tanks that held 244 cu.ft. of pure nitrous. Ultimately, he developed hand tremors, for one thing, and lost his ability to perform dentistry. It's no joke.

I swear when I was a young adult, the dentist I used to go to I was sure that he was always high on the gas. Was still a great dentist but for sure I could tell and it always did feel a little weird to somehow know that. But I still kept going to him because he had state of the art technology in his office and he was knowledgeable.

I knew a young man who recently died from this very thing. He was 24 years old. He was a co-owner of a thriving business, brilliant, kind, hard working, thoughtful, and appeared to have everything a young man could want. Somehow he was introduced to this horrible addiction and it took his life. Allegedly, he only started because he was told/believed that it wasn't that dangerous and it wasn't one of those "hardcore" drugs. By the time he was found and rushed to the hospital, he was being kept alive by machines. He was an organ donor and luckily he was able to save other people's lives with his organs that were otherwise incredibly healthy. This was his legacy, but it left a hole in the town beyond what he could have even imagined. His parents had to make the decision to stop the machines which allowed his heart and lungs to stop. I cannot imagine that pain. PLEASE stop this if you are doing it. It is killing so many people and its barely on the radar as dangerous. Please stop.

Many shows since early ‘80s and the “lot tanks” definitely picked up big time by the end of the decade. Hippie crack. First sound you heard upon arriving…and last upon leaving. However, that was REAL nitrous…and still can be had at actual gas shops in most cities. The shit they’re selling at vape shops in those little cans ARE NOT the same thing and pose a much greater health risk than the real stuff when taken responsibly. Everything in moderation. Many fun times at private parties streaming shows and sharing the hose. 😅 I hope she stays clean off that vape store crap. Probably made in China.

@imanalien2222 Yes, hippie crack was the street name back then, ahaha. The woosh of the tank filling the balloon must be the sound you are referring to. I wish her the best as well. Hopefully, sharing her story will prevent someone from using that stuff and causing harm to their health and life.

I’m so happy she lived through her addiction in order to speak on it and tell her story, to hopefully educate someone else going through something similar and spread awareness on it. Many blessings to you, Orylan, and never stop being true to yourself and using your voice! I’ve never done whippets but I’ve been hooked on pills. I’ve been clean for 12 years or so now. I quit counting. It’s always one day at a time, sometimes one minute at a time. It ruined my teeth. Before my Dad died, he begged me to let him pay for dentures. I told him that although I usually don’t have any cravings, the urge creeps in from time to time and all I have to do is look in the mirror and the urge disappears. I have 2 grandkids that I want to be around as much as possible. Stay the course young lady. You will be fine. The Good Lord has a purpose for you being here. Just keep up the great work and focus on yourself. Don’t sweat what folks say. The saying “What goes around, comes around is terribly true. Much love and prayers for your continued recovery, protection , and healing. 🤙🤙

I just love this girl! Ngl, the first time she was on here, her aesthetic scared the crap out of me…after hearing her talk, I came to admire her ethics and her drive/motivation, even if our morals were not aligned. In these past few years (since the first interview) I’ve also gained about 40ish pounds and it’s been nothing but pure financial hardship every single month…when I first saw her weight gain, I immediately felt a connection to her. My heart goes out to her bc I know the pain of taking up more space than I used to, nothing fits, I get winded, etc…but then to hear how she is overcoming an addiction that almost killed her…now I just want to be her BFF and I admire her sooo much. I have several addictions I need to overcome but haven’t quite found the motivation to put action to my wishes. ..I’m still trying to wish myself away from bad food choices and stupid substances I never should have started. Another funny thing: the first interview, I totally judged her for being on OF but now to hear that she’s still doing it and doing well, I thought “dang, good for you!” Thanks so much for having her on. She’s super inspiring and motivational!

She has a good heart and I wish her well, but it seems that there is a deeply underlying need for attention which pervades her life. She’s very beautiful; I hope she finds herself being able to just be content with her own self, without needing to be seen and validated by others in so many different ways.

I did this for a while. I accumulated numerous Walmart bags full of empty cans, and decided to stop ordering them, I had just quit alcohol 2 years before that, For me, it was an escape from pretty much everything that I knew, everything I could think. I blacked out a lot, fell on the floor, so frequently that I started doing it laying down, similar to how I would crawl to the bathroom during my drunk days to avoid falling. I didn't know about the food oil thing. I appreciate that.

Also tbh I feel like much of the 'high' achieved when N2O is ingested recreationally, via the few methods that have always been used by partying folk and/or junkies (as opposed to how it is administered in controlled medical settings), is essentially just rapid onset and acute cerebral hypoxia symptoms experienced as a result of literally forgetting to breathe air or intentionally starving oneself of oxygen to prolong the rush~~~ because who needs brain cells anyway? Idk, just a hunch I've had after many many dark years of indulging which could be wrong, but for these reasons I feel like for people who start to abuse it habitually, it actually doesn't matter so much which gas they're inhaling so fiendishly, just as long as it isn't oxygen.

We had a period when many drug users in part of Central Europe inhaled butane-propane gas as a secondary or a tertiary drug. The effects of nitrous oxide appear to be much stronger, harmful even with pure gas.

N2O is becoming a thing among youths in Germany now. There is no age restriction for purchasing it yet. Until recently, the bottles were available in vending machines for about $20. I had no idea N2O is addictive. Even if they ban N2O in bottles you can still buy it in cream chargers for whipped cream dispensers.
