It’s devastating to think at 21 she feels there is no hope. The first 21 years of my life were terrible. I was addicted to smoking meth from 16 to 21. At 21 I made the best decision and got away from that. It was a huge struggle, but eventually I got my GED, then a Bachelors degree, and next month I will finish with a Masters of Social Work at age 36. It’s never too late and as a social worker I hope to show people this! ❤ I hope one day things change for her!

Her face is so young, but the look in her eyes and her voice convey the exhaustion and melancholy of someone who’s lived an entire lifetime of struggle. I have a daughter who is turning thirteen this year and the thought of her experiencing these kinds of things… there’s no words to describe the feelings it gives me. It weighs so heavy on my heart - the knowledge that this is just one of countless souls who have endured such tragic circumstances - and how it’s been happening for all of history and how complex the problems are, how challenging the solution(s) are - it’s what keeps me up at night. These videos have me counting my blessings for damn sure. I just wish I was in a position to really help affect change. I’m writing a book with a protagonist who is a homeless woman and sex worker (well, she’s a kind of homeless. She has shelter, but it isn’t hers and it’s tenuous) and she becomes a true hero. I have been in situations that cause me to have a lot of empathy for so many of the people in these videos (I will admit it’s harder to feel empathy for a handful of them - compassion is important however) and living similar lives. I feel like all I really can do right now is use my creative voice to share my thoughts and feelings about issues like economic inequality and what it takes to create radical change for humanity. If I had wealth I would put it high on my priority list to use it contribute to the mission of this channel and similar causes. I hope and pray Amber finds her way to a better life. I can sense she has so much more potential than opportunity. It would be wonderful if that would change for her, and everyone like her.

So.. you're going to make money from describing a story like Amber's. Would you give some back to her, or somebody like her, to help out, or do you just like it that somebody else suffers so you can profit from it? Years ago it was the 'poor suffering artist' that made money, not so any more, now it's the comfortable middle class voyeur. You say it makes you sad to see this; helping out would make you fell better, right?

Who are these fucked-up men who use and abuse women just like that?????!!!??? I understand some of the worst pimps are women themselves, but in so many cases it's just men who hire out the women they call their girlfriends, or employees! I just want to hug Amber, and just take her away, get her an apartment and a job and her daughter back! It's not like rocket science to nudge people back on track. It doesn't take much and it's the most shameful thing that a society like the US can't or won't do that! What about stopping all of our money going to Mr Zuckerberg, and Bezos and Musk and instead helping people like Amber back on her feet who has been been used and abused for no fault of her own! It's disingenuous to call these children prostitutes. Call them what they are -- trafficked. They don't choose this, but are forced into it, and they are victims. Calling them prostitutes makes it sound like they made a choice to live this life, and it unfairly labels them. There's no such thing as a "child prostitute" or a "teenage prostitute." Using this wording is just further victimizing them, perpetuating the problem, and taking the focus off of the men who are the real criminals.

No, she said herself that she skipped school to go ho. She did it because she thought it was cool. Nobody stole her, she did it herself. She was/is young and dumb thinking that she was the real deal badass in the streets and ended up living that life. The excitment turned into regret because it became a lifestyle instead of something bold and daring for addrenaline. I made the same choices but as a dealer. I thought it was cool and badass but ended up realizing that it was the dumbest way to be successful. Now I'm a day trader. lmao.
