At 21 I made the best decision and got away from that. It was a huge struggle, but eventually I got my GED, then a Bachelors degree, and next month I will finish with a Masters of Social Work at age 36. I have a daughter who is turning thirteen this year and the thought of her experiencing these kinds of things… there’s no words to describe the feelings it gives me. I’m writing a book with a protagonist who is a homeless woman and sex worker (well, she’s a kind of homeless. She has shelter, but it isn’t hers and it’s tenuous) and she becomes a true hero. I have been in situations that cause me to have a lot of empathy for so many of the people in these videos (I will admit it’s harder to feel empathy for a handful of them - compassion is important however) and living similar lives. I feel like all I really can do right now is use my creative voice to share my thoughts and feelings about issues like economic inequality and what it takes to create radical change for humanity. If I had wealth I would put it high on my priority list to use it contribute to the mission of this channel and similar causes. I hope and pray Amber finds her way to a better life. I can sense she has so much more potential than opportunity. It would be wonderful if that would change for her, and everyone like her.

Man, I remember girls being knocked up at 12 and 13 when I was in middle school. Shit was wild. There were drug addicted kids in like 5 and 6th grade. I grew up fast as shit, I can tell you that much.
