I can see this is you arch your finger to use the tip of your finger, but not if you use the flat part of the middle of your finger. I find the soft shutter release useful if you have a small body and big hands, if anything, for me at least, i find it makes shooting more stable and comfortable

Thanks! I was considering one, but not now. Actually, the more I look at them, the more I find that they detract from the nice lines that are already a part of the cameras.

It's possible you made these experience because of the concave button. I did not make this experience with the convex button-style.

Only reason I can think of adding a "soft realse" is to stop dirt entering the shutter button.

Buy the black colors 5mm diameter 3M adhesive convex round silicon pad would do. Cheap and prevent dust stuck in the shutter hole.

You have to make your own tests as each person has a different stability. But when you reach the minimum speed you can get without blur, then put the button and shoot again to compare yourself

You should not be focusing with the shutter button in the first place. Back button focus is a much better way to shoot and allows you to add the soft shutter color buttons. Really there is no reason in digital photography to even have a threaded shutter button because there are better remote releases available.
@EricGibaud4 ай бұрын
I disagree, it all depends on the camera ergonomics, on some of my cameras I use back button and on others I don’t, on the X100 serie I don’t find the back button ideally placed and it is also too small so I prefer standard shutter button. Anyway what I explain is about trigging, so no matter if you use back button or not, the problem using this accessory will still be the same
