Thank you! LOL people use a Fake accent????
@Kuchursingh6 жыл бұрын
yes they do. there are a couple of youtube chiefs that have fake accents, they from abroad, they can only pronounce some th'es, and say they words like "dong" instead of down but in an accent.

Is sindoor edible? I've seen priests put it on coconut halves and give it as prasad, but I've never seen it put on other food offerings. I'm from Andhra, so I guess I'm unaware.
@trini-indiankitchen15407 жыл бұрын
i'm sure sindoor is inedible (i did a project on sindur and the chemicals they use a few years back for school). but i know that here, we put sindoor on an offering made to any devi (mothers: Durga, Lakshmi, Swarsati, Kali, Kateri etc.) and so i decided to make some edible sindoor at home so its not dangerous to consume.

Mother kateri is the last Devi manifested. She is mostly known amongst the madrassi people in Trinidad. She is the Devi who can come to any place and to Any extent to help the devotees on earth including where there is meat, alcohol etc. She is also offered these things. She is portrayed riding a horse, in a simple black saree with orhni on her head wielding neem branches and a sword. She is very similar to mother sheetala or chamunda of the north, and mother Kali and mother mariamman of the south. She is a healing Devi, with a short temper who is sometimes prayed to for black magic and for evil intentions by people who don't know the consequences of this Devi's wrath. She is a powerful but simple Devi who doesn't want more than just to be remembered by the shakti pujarans. Those who regularly do her puja sometimes gets overcome by her shakti and become a vessel for her to speak to and heal devotees. This doesn't mean possession. This is when the shakti, or the power of the Devi comes upon the most devoted of the humans.

Trini- Indian Kitchen I wonder if she can be worshipped with the same offerings as used in the worship of Durga.
@trini-indiankitchen15407 жыл бұрын
Me and Natasha from "Trini cooking with Natasha" will be sharing a video soon where we talk about the ingredients needed and offerings made to most mainstream Devi's/Devta's and I will include mother Kali, and mother kateri in my video along with other Devi's and Devta's. Basically she is worshipped with limes, neem leaves, turmeric and Kumkum/sindoor, turmeric water with neem leaves and lime juice, burning camphor, sambrani, green coconuts, sohari and lapsi, urad dal vada with sautéed drumstick leaves, a black saree, a black flag with bamboo pole, red oleander flowers, cigarette and white rum, and in extreme cases, goat sacrifice and you offer all the blood to the Devi and cook the goat meat as parsad. Please contact a pujari/pujarini to help you with kateri maa worship because it's not a simple worship. You can offer her a deya of ghee, a few neem leaves, a lit incense stick, some camphor aarti, perfume, flowers, and a food item while doing daily prayers or weekly prayers to Devi's like Durga, Lakshmi, swarasati, Kali etc.

Trini- Indian Kitchen I am a Devi worshipper, so yeah, just a bit of curiosity... I do worship Rajarajeswari flanked by Lakshmi and Saraswati.

Yea I know, I think I mentioned that. I did not use this batch for maa Durga though. I just added the sindoor and neem leaves to show people how to prepare it for prayers. Thanks for showing your concern and watching my video! Seeta ram ॐ

I just remembered one thing, no tulsi leaves for Devi puja, she does not like the scent of tulsi, and it rather infuriates her. Tulasi ghrana matrena - chandika kruddho jayate At the scent of tulsi, Chandika (Devi) becomes angry Better to offer bel/bilva leaves

Yes, I have since learnt this...The Srimad Devi Bhagavatam book 3, chapter 26, verses 28-31 state what can be offered to the Devi... 28-31. "First of all, one should worship duly the Goddess Jagaddhâtri, presenting Her Chandan (sandal paste), Aguru (a fragrant wood, the aloe wood), Camphor, the flowers Mandâra (one of the five trees of the celestial regions), Karaja a kind of fragrant flower)! Asoka, Champaka, Karavir, Mâlatî, and Brâhmî and various lovely sweet-scented flowers **and good Bel leaves**, Dhûpa (incense, a fragrant gum burnt before idols) and lamps. Next one should present the fruits cocoanut, Mâtulinga, the pomegranate, bananas, oranges, the jack fruits, Bel and various other delicious fruit and then, offering Her arghya, present boiled rice and other food with a heart, full of devotion." Bael leaves are mentioned, as per folk traditions Neemb is also used extensively, and she is said to reside in a part of the Peepal tree. No mention of Tulsi for the Goddess :))

Trini- Indian Kitchen Ganesha isn’t fond of Tulasi either, but I made lapsi on Rama Navami last year, and every thali had at least one Tulasi leaf on it. As for Rama, Lakshmana, and Hanuman, they all had Tulasi garlands. Sita, being an incarnation of Mahalakshmi, had a garland of red and pink roses.

Vaishnava deities are particularly fond of Tulsi! Sri Krishna is said to never accept an offering without Tulsi 🙂
