They tried an American version of GBBO awhile ago. It was hosted by Paul Hollywood and Marcella Valladolid. Tldr; the two end up banging/cheating on their SOs and the show didn't work out. Shame. I'd love if it could get another try though!

I love that you mentioned your house doesn't do a traditional spread for Thanksgiving. For the last several years our family has chosen a region in the world (each year is different) and make something from there from the main, sides, and desserts. Its been so fun, you learn new techniques, and you end up with food you normally wouldn't have. Once the day comes and you bring the dishes together, its impressive.

My brothers and I make a really stupid thing that we call the "bacon football". Make mashed potatoes and dice up a bunch of mushrooms. Wrap it all in bacon and bake until all the grease has penetrated the potatoes and mushrooms, with an optional catch for lost drippings below, dripping into a second tray of mashed potatoes. Serve that with milk and call it a day.
@foofoogirlz4 сағат бұрын
@@VocalMabiMaple That sounds amazing and will be trying this out soon. Were not a sports kind of house but definitely going to call them Bacon Sportsball. 😆

@@foofoogirlz if you do make it, my recommendation is that you take the time to weave the bacon strips together. It holds its shape better

one tip for tangzhong, i make like 7kg of this each time at the bakery and we don't whisk by hand obviously. have your flour ready aside, boil your water (really boil it), put the water in the stand mixer and instantly put the flour on top and mix it for several minutes. same result, even better actually.

24:18 FYI: Texas Sheet Cake is usually not that deep. A sheet pan is usually used, hence the name. The first time I had it, I was at a family reunion for my mother’s family. At the end of a table full of foods I had never seen or heard of, before was a pan of what appeared to be brownies, with a thin frosting and chopped pecans on top. It was indeed the worst brownie I had ever had-I like them chewy/fudgey, not cakey. I learned about 30 years later what it was. Knowing what it is, it is a lovely little slice.🤗😋

Although Sohla waxes poetic about Claiimjumper (which for almost a year I called "Clamjumper") Claimjumper is essentially a rough-around- the-edges Cheesecake Factory. Each individual entree is enough food for about four people.
