Fantastic! I used to work on the Soho Road as shown at 2:37 near the junction of Grove Lane/Nineveh Road between 1983 to 1987. While watching the film, I could literally smell the aroma, hear the noises and feel the warmth and friendliness of the people of the Soho Road. Happy, happy days.

@@MK-mh6lh If you stop the video at 2:37 you will see the West Bromwich Building Society branch office of which I was the manager. Its now a Cash 4 Gadgets shop. In 1990 I was working in Head Office and I was asked to cover at Harborne Branch. I refused. So they sent the assistant manager to Harborne and I got my wish to cover at Soho Road. It was wonderful! It was like coming home. Many of my previous customers remembered me and were disappointed I was not going to return to the Soho Road. Happy days.

@@johnr7769 amazing!! My grandfather had a fabrics business on soho rd ‘Fashion Fabrics’ so grew up visiting the road daily, I also would attend nursery on louise rd so as a 3 year older in 1990 I’m sure my mother and I walked past the building society several times! How strange, it brings back so many memories and sadness that those days will never com back being a 33 year old man with several grey hairs 😄

Born in Brum ,1941, lived in many areas , including Handsworth , 1948 to 1950. Knew Rookery road well, and Soho road. Family left Brum 1955. I last drove down Soho Road . 1998, the changes were astonishing, 90% shop's were Asian owned and peopled. It looked like a city street in Karachi or Bombay.

Another fun fact: Quite a lot of famous people passed by the Monty including afew wrestlers, British Bulldog was one of them and they’d apparently ask where they could get some gear from.
