This is one of my two favorite songs of hers, the other is "Where are You". I recommended this (along with many other people, i'm sure) when i watched your reaction to Arirang Alone, hoping you would react. Thank You! This is the greatest performance I have ever heard in my 75 years on this planet. I don't think there's another female singer alive who could sing this arrangement. If there is, I'd love to hear it. Incredible stamina, incredible pitch, incredible vocal control, incredible emotional content - she has it all. She doesn't sing at you - she sings into you. You don't even need a translation to understand what this song is about. Her voice and performance tells the whole story. Thank you, So Hyang.

Totally agree. I grew up listening to Edith Piaf. She died when I was young boy but she was the only one who made me cry from listening to a song. Now So Hyang is doing it to me again. Her dynamics going into each note is just mindblowing. Watch her body language on each note. She intends every single input of vocal colors. Just a genius ! Peace & health to you.

Being a So Hyang fan has been like a teenager that discovered the cool indy band before everyone else and then getting repeated contact highs as everyone else figures out how incredible they are. What you are going to discover as you listen to more of her is that she just exudes this aura of kindness that just makes you feel good any time you see her perform. Especially cool are the fancams of her doing Run Across the Sky where she sings about half of the song while going through the audience shaking hands and occasionally even performing an G5 belt while she's doing it!

What I want from a singer is that their singing can break through the obstacles and go straight to my heart. Some singers do once in a while, except Sohyang. She stirred up my emotions and I get chills and goosebumps every single time. If it is a ballad, I get all teary eyes.

I aways love an honest reaction, and thank you for that. I love Sohyang as a full package performer, she has a beautiful personality in and out of stage, she sings for God and for you, not for money or even fame, that's what make her different, and probably that's why her performances always touch you no matter what song she sang. Lots of amazing singers/vocalists out there, but she's a tear jerker guaranteed. When she start singing, she own the song. Maybe, so many singers can did impresive technique about singing (maybe they can go higher than sohyang did with super highnotes and whistle register). But, in my deeply feelings when i hear sohyang singing i just feeling comfy and being stronger again even i have to struggle in many problems but she's always give me power and blessings by God with her angelical voice..." I clicked so fast when I see this video is up, lol. Good to see you're using the fully translated performance from vimeo. Many who watched the partially translated version in KZbin of this same performance left wondering about Sohyang's very heartfelt and personal message during the non-singing part. It's a less immersive experience if one found out later why asking/reading from the comment section. BTW: Sohyang is a huge fan of Mariah. Sohyang said in an interview her highest note is Eb7, which is obviously a whistle, although she never used her whistle register in a public performance. Some critics say Mariah's HV is less developed causing her to opt for whistle instead in her songs. It's understandable though as all singers perform and arrange songs according to their strength slash comfort zone. Mariah's strength is her whistle register, while Sohyang is her HV. Mariah edges Sohyang with her lows and agility, while Sohyang advantages are stamina and dynamics (which you may notice Sohyang displays generously in this performance, crescendo and diminuendo for days. Some of her pianissimo in other performances are to die for.) Both are excellent mixers obviously. You can be the first vocal coach to react to it, since I think nobody has done it yet.
