2018 was such a bad year for So Hyang’s health as she was almost constantly sick, so it’s unbelievably impressive that she has pretty much maintained her range from previous years with still flawless technique and support. Most singers can’t hit any substantial note as soon as they get a cold or bronchitis, yet So Hyang has continued to belt and support resonant B5s with full fledged pneumonia. It’s really a testament to her excellent technique and her incredible ability to change her technique in order to hit the notes she wants despite illness. Such a phenomenal vocalist; one of the best of all time already and she’s still improving somehow despite being frequently ill and in her 40s. A true goddess and legend.

My reaction on Hug Me 2018 was sad because her eyes looked so exhausted. You can see in how much pain she is. And the fact that she was sitting on a chair broke my heart. She would usually stand, making her exaggerated gestures (I am not hating.. I love them) and sing with that painful yet passionate expression. Hope her health will at least improve in this year.
