Her version of the song feels like more of a hug rather than just sound to me. It's just a total package, complete with warmth, comfort, timbre, vocal control, tenderness, and even power. BTW, what a respectful reaction and timely pauses!! When more than two people react together, often times too much interference and distraction bothers me. But you guys are different! This is a stripped down acoustic version of this iconic song, with minimum instrumentation as accompaniment, performed outside, whilst sitting down, and yet it was so easy for her. The clarity, resonance and dynamics were mind-blowing, and she also sang the sax part for good measure. Sohyang is an incredible vocalist, one of the best currently on the planet. Another legendary performance by her. Just a suggestion, if you want to expierence a vocal master class and one of the best 7 minutes in vocal history you must react to her version of 'Everyone' which is a gospel song with tons on riffs, runs, crescendos, decrescendos, perfect high mix voice, head voice, transitions. That's by far one of the best vocal performances of all time made by any singer to date IMHO

That would've been hard enough to do but when you add on to it the fact that she was on a dockside, it was very windy & she was just sat down with her legs crossed & also with minimum musical backing & as a big sohyang fan for a number of years I can honestly say that song didn't push her too much at all, its probably the, equivalent of me singing a nursery rhyme!!! You are correct about the cancer. She was 20/21 yrs & had just got married & went for a check up with regards to starting a family. She had it removed but whilst in there the surgeon discovered more that was hiding from the scan so the family agreed to let him remove the rest of it whilst she was already in theatre & whilst that probably saved her life, it unfortunately left her unable to have children of her own. This really breaks my heart because every day you see or hear about people that have numerous kids & dont treat them as kids should be treated & you have sohyang, the most beautiful person both onside & out, who through no fault of her own will never get the chance to experience that & it just seems so unfair because you know she would be a wonderful mother. She has said in interviews that she has looked in to adoption & I think deep down that she's hoping that some sort of medical assistance (like IVF) may be a possibility for her at some point. She believes that everything happens for a reason & from a totally selfish point of view, if her life had gone the way she had thought before the cancer I am 99% sure that none of us,particularly here in the west, would have had our ears blessed by her stunning voice

I just wanted to say, that I really enjoy your reactions to Sohyang . Judging by the intro to your videos, you are clearly into a different genre of music. And that is why I enjoy your reactions so much. It is nice to see People from all different backgrounds and journeys in music appreciate an artist like Sohyang. To me she is world class. Period. Not only is she an amazing singer, but anything you listen to, that she has done, she has also arranged. Soshe is not only a singer, but a complete musician. Not something you see every day. She has so many great songs, but if you happen to like the Whitney Houston covers, check out "I have nothing". I promise you, you have never heard that song done like that . Other great songs are "arirang alone" "everyone" and another must on the list is "lean on me" which she destroyed. If I had sung that song, I would never sing it again after I heard that rendition..lol.. it is a mind blowing arrangement, suited for her to showcase her skills. Anything she does is absolutely amazing.. pick your poison and be prepared be blown away. It will happen every time.

Not correct about stage 3/4 cancer. More like she discovered the potential cancer tumour early and had it removed resulting in infertility. Most fans thought she had cancer. True that she had alot of fights with pneumonia so much so that she once had wanted to stop singing in 2017. She participated in King of Mask Singer that year when she was of ill health and won a record of 6 crowns at that time, boosting her confidence that people do like her singing. To me, her songs in KOMS are still the best.
