Soi Fon said what every Soul Reaper there was thinking. They'd just watched **thousands** of their squadmates get slaughtered, including their Head Captain, and now Squad Zero shows up acting like rockstars looking for a rockstar welcome? When they said "We're going to rebuild the Court Guard Squads", my first thought was "If you'd helped out a few days ago, there wouldn't be so much to rebuild". Tenjiro may be right about them all having their own jobs to do, but they could have been just a **little** more sensitive to the fact that these people are grieving right now. Soi Fon did nothing wrong. She acted like a human would in that situation. Someone there had to acknowledge that these guys showed up like they were entering a club, not a battlefield (or a graveyard).

He's right though. Complaining about the Royal Guard not helping is like the US Military complaining about the Secret Service not helping. The Royal Guard's primary responsibility is protecting the Soul King and Royal Palace. The Gotei 13 has a bad habit of holding back due to pointless personal issues, to the detriment of their jobs. The few captains that get shit done are the ones who fight without restraint, usually the ones that go bankai the quickest. If every captain went all out, that initial invasion would have gone differently.

@@smzig Soi Fon *did* go to Bankai, and so did Byakuya and Toshiro and Komamura, and all it got them was their Bankais were stolen. So of course the others weren't going to use theirs. "Going all out" didn't help anyone in this invasion.

There are three Vizard captains who are quite likely immune to to the Bankai stealing and none of them even used their masks, much less their bankais. Not to mention one of them has a bankai (Shinji) that could have really thrown a wrench into their initial invasion.

Unohona is powerful and was trained by him.. byakuya, rukia, ichigo, and renji got trained from sqaud 0 and leveled up greatly. I think they should train a group at a time for everyone, like a regular thing before all this. I'd love to see how soi fon, komamaru and them would turn out after training up there too.

Powercreep is present in almost every anime, even master classes like AOT and One Piece. It doesn't automatically make the show bad if it's handled correctly. In this case, the power creep is logical and makes sense. Besides, extremely powerful characters always existed but didn't get around to displaying their power.
