One of the things I loved most about this show was how the survival instinct is depicted on some of these characters, they seriously refuse to go down without a fight

One of the very few aspects of the show that's great. Didn't think much about Tolbin until this scene. The overall fight choreography in the show is good too. That's about it.

@@bruce000000070000000 I don't think I've ever watched a show with so many plot holes, for one. This show couldn't decide wether it was was about a murder mystery, the Jedi, the Sith. Terrible acting. Typical put in a couple horrible cameos to try to make a sequel. The story was horrendous. 180 million dollar budget....for that?

@@Highskill3r I agree, but the witches possessed and controlled a jedi (master, I think?) which probably is very hard. I think them passing out (by assuming they did indeed only pass out) from that is believable 😅

My theory is when the connection was interrupted and broken the witches spirits couldn’t return to their bodies, and were instead lost, so their physical bodies were lifeless while their spirits were (and probs still are) wandering aimlessly for eternity. The wookie Jedi, on the other hand, had his mind permanently marked by the witches dark magic, which is why he exiled himself and drew symbols of the coven for 16 years Second theory is that they did just all pass out from exertion and then perished in the fire lol

That Wookie master is very strong in terms of physical strength. When this scene was primarily introduced to me, I felt that he was going to smash Torbin and Sol.

Torbin actor is great. It sucks hes saddled with sich terribele diagloge and character motivations. His actng is good and his lightsaber skills look great. Best part of the episode is just him twirling the lightsaber or fending off the wookie attack. He was done dirty

@@GuyDudeman to be honest, you can say that for every fight scene in Star Wars, prequels included. Nothing has been as bad as the sequels choreography tho. At least the acolyte has speed and cool hand to hand stuff we haven’t seen before Also Kalnacca is possessed and not in control of his skills. He’s being used as a puppet by the witches who are controlling his actions. Kalnacca is also probably trying to fight against it, so he would be trying not to kill his friends either

@@FulcrumHQ99 The sequel fight scenes are very good and give a sense of weight to the attacks, which is what Lucas originally envisioned. The way they fight also matches each character's experience levels as well. The choreography isn't perfect, but no SW fight is.

It's probably cause of the force of the strike that sent the Jedi down. This even happened in Legends where Beldorians strikes were so heavy, he could even knock lightsabers out of their hands and fracture wrists

The movements here are slowed because they’re trying to add the illusion of power and lack of control(being mind controlled) in the wookie’s swings, but what feels weird is the other jedi have to move slower to compensate. It’s not perfect, but it’s done with purpose.

Hey... no kidding... why did the witches die? It looks so stupid on first, second and third glance that I almost think there must be something more behind it. When someone steals your wookie, is that the equivalent of intermittent peeing in a public toilet? Only instead of feeling uncomfortable you die? And not just you, but everyone else in the bathroom with you? That's the best I could come up with. Or... Then I don't know why I can think of a simile about a dog that jumps on his girl counterpart and every owner knows that once the two dogs start, they can't separate anymore because they literally "lock" and hold the "key" to each other. Well, it's just that a lot of people don't know about the key, so they separate the dogs and then wonder why the dog is so upset. ...it strikes me as the witches put their key in the wookie and once they were banished, they just didn't give it.

They all connected their minds to synchronize and take control of Kelnacca, as if she were a puppet controlled by strings. Indara's technique with the Force broke the connection quickly but strongly, that is, it cut the threads that tied their minds to Kelnacca's, and without threads, the puppeteers lost control even with their minds connected and died.

That's overly harsh. You have a dude in a full prosthetic wookie suit doing combat maneuvers. That's extremely limiting and hard to work with. It has to be toned down to accommodate that. Otherwise we get a CGI wookie fight, and you'd be complaining about that as well.

I genuinely don't understand the people saying this fight choreo is good. It's so clunky and slow and lethargic, and kelnacca is stupid for constantly having his claws around someone's neck and instead of crushing them like grapes decides to toss them to safety. I don't believe sol or torbin have anywhere close to the physical strength to stop a wookiee either. Everything about this fight screams to me that it was made by clowns

@@dragonpaulz_ Did you not know that jedi can fortify their bodies and strength with the force to some extent? Go rewatch the prequel fights. They do crazy blocks and parries from positions that would normally not work at all, all the time. It's a space fantasy about wizard monks fighting a giant man-bear-pig. You're setting yourself up for disappointment by injecting too much "realism" into your expectations. Also, from a practical standpoint they have a man in a fully prosthetic wookie suit trying to do fight coordination. There's a reason you never saw Chewie doing anything remotely acrobatic. That shit is extremely hard, and they have to work under those limitations and make them work within the story as best they can. Give them some slack.

Sorry. when the wookie made the long overhand swing, the jedi master would have stepped inside the swing and got the wookie in the stomach. Too lumbering for a master to not just take. I know he wasn't trying to kill him but he could have incapacited him. And finally a jedi actually uses the force instead of just old sword fighting to win (saber fighting)

Hitting a wookie in the stomach, even with a force amplified punch, is not going to do enough to incapacitate them, and then you're stuck on the inside line of the wookie, in arm's reach. That is absolutely a terrible move.
