Husqvarna TE511 Test Ride

Testing ride of the 2013 Husqvarna (NOT Husk-a-varna!) TE511 dual sport motorcycle. Love the looks of this bike! Very light, only 255lbs! Good ergonomics. I didn't have to hunch over at all when standing. Things I don't like: Close ratio transmission, a bit touchy throttle response (slight jerkiness on/off throttle) but that's probably due to fuel injection, and the seat which is very hard and very narrow.

Nice bike, looking forward to se more of it. It's good to see that the old Swedish motorcycle still is around (I'm from Sweden ;-) by the way...)

Well, I bought it. Taking her out to a very extreme mountain trail group in the morning (Cedro Peak).

yamajoe120 Yeah, well how many years of off-road riding do you have under your belt? I've got 2.5 yrs on a KLR. Not really a bike you learn to take up steep steps and stuff. I've only been up there a couple of times and there's some parts that will challenge me.

how would you rate it? I herd power isnt quite up there with other 450s.

Power is good. From the dealer they are in Race Map 1 and without the power up plug which is weak. I have the plug and had my ECU remapped to Race Map 3. It rips.

Patience. It was a test ride. That bike was never ridden before me.
