Wow. Your review was much better than IGN’s! Thank you for reviewing this more carefully.

100% agree! I watched GS’s reviews first, then check out IGN for a second opinion. After-purchase, I’ve always felt way more well-informed by GS over IGN.

This game looks like JetsetRadioFuture on a heavy dose of Ghostrunner and a few shots Okami. I dig it

“…it struggles to communicate what EXACTLY the stakes are, and why we should care.” I think the text that reads “…a world-eating black hole. Nothing can stop it from consuming another planet…” pretty CLEARLY lays the stakes down.
@ShiningEyeBrigade3 жыл бұрын
That seems pretty clear! Lol! I’ve not played so can’t say, but I think the point of the reviewer is that there is a lot of confusing “proper nouns” in the introduction and so that might overwhelm and confuse even though they might state the issue clearly at some point. You know the whole “communicating well is not only what you say, but what you don’t say.” Sometimes it is best to only put the detailed complexity in a place for folks who are willing to dig for it, rather than right up front. Again, this is all conjecture on my part, I’ve not played it so I’m not saying you are wrong. But I thought it was maybe interesting enough to share.

@@ShiningEyeBrigade that’s what made this teams previous game so good. Visual communication over audible. I’m hopeful this one will be just as great

I loved the difficulty in Hyperlight Drifter. It’s kind of disappointing to hear that this isn’t nearly as difficult.
@imustconsultwiththeeldergo59063 жыл бұрын
yea it's also shame that journey is not as difficult as sekiro u know
@PapaCalledMeSon3 жыл бұрын
@@imustconsultwiththeeldergo5906 Sekiro and journey were different developers, this is made by a little studio who only have done one game. And no one really knew what to expect. The fact that they went from hyper light drifter to an almost zen like skating platformer experience with almost no real battles is just not what most people wouldve place their bet on. I am still in love with hld and yes I was disappointed the moment I realized how different in almost every aspect this game is. But fortunately I really really like the movement in solar ash, feels like jet set radio which was one of my favorite games as a kid. Also we’re platformers. But if you don’t like stuff like this it is disappointing for lot of people who love heart machine for the masterpiece called hyper light drifter. It’s like from soft would make a new franchise without really telling what to expect except a few trailers and than it comes out and is a social simulator about pacifism, school fight now an then and strawberries. Guess it’s his right to say he’s disappointed. Nice experience anyway. But not for every old fan
@civilizedsquid24553 жыл бұрын
It’s somewhat challenging. But that challenge comes in the platforming not the combat. Platforming puzzles/gauntlets become much harder as you progress too. Play it on the harder difficulties and those bosses basically have to been done perfectly, no mistakes.
@PapaCalledMeSon3 жыл бұрын
@@civilizedsquid2455 yes definitely. Level 3 starts to get tricky. But that’s the joy of this game. I love to play it with the game music off and listening to Spotify. Sometimes rock sometimes deep house. It’s pretty chilling and mesmerizing

The statement at the end about there being no boss is incorrect!! If you destroy the Starseed you fight yourself in a boss battle as Echo (the woman you see after every boss) Edit: id like to add ive 100% this game.
