@@alexandrunistoroiu452 it can be done, I rather not do it. I run a smaller battery then damage the unit what if the sun drops behind, or the next day, I do have a 100 watt portable that does not require a battery, and I. Modded to two. Watt so that would be hte better choice

The battery settings for this controller is very confusing. A AGM battery is actually both a SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) and GEL battery but has glass fiber that holds the gel-electrolyte stable. The question is what setting to use for AGM batteries? I would guess B02 (GEL).

Awesome question, this is for a 12vdc solar panel, if you use a 24vdc to a 12v it is not the one to use. I have a 18vdc solar panel and use one, but its really not that powerful in amperage, so I can get away with it. I do not recommend overloading that is me.

I found information (?) control panel 10 A for solar 12 V 10A*12V=120W but can connect solar panel 18V (works one week OK) but max 120W (so current smaller) so version 10 A (12/24 for battery - acid / gel or other version Lithium ) solar panel max=120W , version 20A = max 240W

Its not advised but what you can do is tap with a larger and smaller wire. that is downside of these units.

well i need help kinda dont understand.i got a brand new battery and i hooked up battery,then solar panel and 3 days later dis charged battery,well i use lights 1 small fan in camper,now do i got to set timer on auto i thought it just charge battery daytime,well dont want to touch the controller at all just want it to do all the work and still dont understand none of these videos,so my ? is hpow do iset up with out setyting timer on solar charge controller?

6 windows to understand each windows has a task: Fuel peak Return working votlatage Shut off timer battery setting if its certain battery each one is easy to understand and what they do you will need to set up the units return voltage to where it is safe t ocome back on at 12.6 and where you want to shut down without wearing the battery down to 11.0V. and depending o nthe time when DUSK falls the hours you want it to run. if it gets dark at 6PM and want 6 hrs ofrun, set to 6 hours, but if the power falls below 11.0v then you have to wait till it recharges the next day pass 12.6. and that will tell you need more AH to run really not difficult.

Hi Fish, I am running the same controller for dusk to dawn LED lighting in the garden. I have a photocell to turn on the lighting when it gets dark. If I set a 3 hour period on the controller, will the 3 hrs start whenever the photocell reacts to the low light? Letting the lights stay on all night drains the battery and it takes longer to charge the battery up to it`s full level the next day. Thanks

Not sure why you ned to puta photocell on when the unit triggers at dusk? you have the unit set to three hours but stays on all night? did I read that correctly?

@@fishycomics Maybe I am doing something wrong here, I dont understand how the controller can trigger the light on at dusk without a photocell. I assumed the timer on the controller was just for a set amount of time so I was using the photocell to detect when it would be dark enough to switch the LED lighting on but to stop it 3 or 4 hours later. The photocell is wired to the "load" terminals of the controller and fed with 12V from the battery. When the photocell is triggered it makes the circuit for the LED lighting to come on. What I am trying to do is to set it and leave it so it comes on every night, so ON at dusk and off 3 hours later.

@@bigbadrobby I am not perfect, know that. 8:40PM the system works. at 11:40-12:AM it is off. The Solar drops below a certain voltage, tells the light switch to go on, when you activate a 3 hour time. that will be how the controller works. What I do so no false triggers like this Am of a lightning storm. My living room controller i call it, I have a timer on it and leave the controller on 24/7, and this way its OFF at the time I set it. not saying that is the answer, but maybe something to look into. I will need to buy a new controller, and timer as I burnt one out that simple. Before you tear things on/off, take a photo, and drawing so when you test the theory out, you can put things back correctly (smarts) I am sure there is something that is drawing.. No inverters. 1 led strip is 1Amper per 16 ft 2. battery is how many AMP hours

@@fishycomics I did actually take it apart (the blue controller) and there is no photocell in it. I am probably wrong but I thought that there should be one in it ? I`m over 70 now so confusion sets in pretty early on my "projects" lol, I do have electronic experience from years ago. I know this setup has worked in the past with the same controller and a photocell between the unit and the lighting LEDS but I should have protected it better as water got in :(

Hello sir nice video I have a question.. so I have a solar controller I have two panels I put them together the wires and I attached it to the controller and then I attached wires to an inverter and I even attached it to a battery now what I'm getting out of the very end terminals is 1.7 something so less than 2 volts now the people next to me has four controllers ironically his is doing exact same thing is mine what are we doing wrong and how do we fix it

Understanding you got an Ohms meter, and did not see 12volts out of the battery terminal port, when the Solar is correctly wired on. Trying to understand why the inverter controller bat terminal to inverter, then to the battery. Is that how you have it hooked up and why?

1 Do you have a fuse on the panel's side? read it? 2 read the solar leads by the controller? 3 battery terminals should be hooked to Battery first, not invertor first ( my thoughts out loud), and take a reading off the controller leads again, 4 solar should toss 18-20 plus vdc direct. per panel. parallel the same, series 36vdc or higher? Since you are copying your neighbor, or saying your neighbor, you basically did something wrong and need to inspect your own work, and you'll find the issue for sure

I have a brand new 12volt 100 AH leisure battery. I bought a 5k watt LED grow lights that uses 100 watts power consumption. It's made in China and 25x25cm. I had it running for at least 4-5 hours when the battery level was at 2 out of 5. I also used a 6k watt inverter so I could plug it in. My grower mate doesn't think this is possible and thinks I have a 100 watt LED lamp. What do you think?

if you do that, as the voltage drops to 12.6 that will cut off the battery. you are rasing it to 12.6 while it was set at 11.0

@@markintx2628 if this is a new product just hooked up, chances of a defect. Can happen. What you can also look for. If the fuse of the solar is not blown if you have. One hooked up. I also check the leads for power with an ohms meter in the day, carefully.

Bro could we charge two batteries using one solar charge controller.. I am using a 12 volt 6 amps charge controller and a 32 ah battery..so i am planning to include one more battery..so is it possible to connect one more battery in the same charge controller

Yes you can add another battery. what will happen it may now take longer to charge. keep it to pos to pos, neg to neg, called a paralel. keeps the same 12vdc just more run time

@@fishycomics well I'm trying to stay in contact with a guy he has solar panels 300 watts or less and I can order a charge controller to handle them but I don't know if they're 24 volt or 12 volts those panels will work on with a charge controller for camping and things that's what I'm trying to figure out will hey 100 amp charge controller handle to 260 West solar panels and charge my 12 volt batteries I know how to connect the batteries parallel or in series I use mine in parallel is somebody knows I wish they would call my number and tell me if it would work or not because I don't want to spend $180 on two used panels if it's not going to work on a 100 amp charge controller with over 500 watts going through it

24 hours gets you right into Manual mode, that is what I use with a timer. I then set my timer the way I want, I also have another one that when a flash of lightning force it on all night. to put to a set timer like the other, that be up to you.

3 of these they do just fine, only beef I got is if its already dark, and I change the timer, it will not set up correctly til the next cycle. so I must do that in the day hours.
