Yes. I do believe it’s both. Leaving her former self behind with the past [possibly a very cold relationship] but it can totally mean just leaving her former self, demanding more warmth, freedom, self love for herself [& others]. I‘ll walk with more confidence and I love myself or something along those lines. So beautiful, this song.

My theory: Because the concept for But I is Reborn Beige, I think it is saying goodbye to a piece of the past and moving on stronger. A lot of symbolism about moving between worlds. Mirrors across a lot of cultures represent a portal for the soul, which is why I think in Buddhism and Judaism they cover mirrors after a death in the family. Eagles (and i think gold eagles especially) are seen as messengers between worlds in many cultures. So I think that by breaking the piano and mirror, burning the coffin, etc. Solar is cutting herself off from the piece of her past that she is burying, to become reborn.

I've ran through it a few times & its yet enough! 😊 The track "Color" might have an mv as there was a teaser clip released, and shes shared in an interview (or somewhere i cant remember) that for the song Color, the whole song was choreographed with vogueing

I can't wait for your reaction to the whole album! Especially when the "Colors" video comes out :) About the lyrics, she explained the meaning on her yt channel. Basically, it's about breaking up with someone and thinking "How did I ever like this person to have a relationship with them?", and freeing yourself from that relationship. People around you can't see how the relationship was bad for you and think you're sad about the breakup, but you're actually really happy and free. Now, my own interpretation of the MV is that the bird is a common representation of freedom, especially when it flies. The casket is the relationship she is ending, and that's why she destroys it. The horse is herself, that's why the horse literally drags the casket (relationship), and then appears lying on the ground, suffering. And when she sees herself in the mirror she's seeing her past self that was suffering too. Finally, she is smiling when she rides the horse in the red dress, meaning she is reborn. This is all my interpretation though.

I choose to believe it’s both a break up song and a moving on song! She’s grateful that the break up opened her eyes and let her discover her true/reborn self. Like “I hate you”, “you” directed to both her previous partner and her past self while in that relationship. Solar once again solidifying her position as my bias this album 😊😊 ooo acoustic version would be chef’s kiss!

I’m guessing the horse dying represents her freeing her past self when she was in the relationship, when she was made to feel small or made to feel like the other person is her only happiness. On the flip side, the eagle represents her current self, free from that relationship and able to soar on her own. Looking forward to the album reaction too!

We know solar can sing ballads, play the piano but yes I have waited my whole life for rocker Solar. She is my favorite singer and this is why among every other song she does. Mongolia was the setting she said, first time she recorded with a rock band and who else can be so up beat with a coffin on fire a dead horse and funeral attire.
