I remember reading in an auto magazine that after the refresh Ford redesigned the heads of the Duratec 30 V6 in 2009 and it got about 40 hp and 40 lb-ft of torque. Then after that, they came out with the new Escape and quietly shuttered the Mercury brand. I'd be very interested in having a Mariner after that refresh like this.

GM still puts a rear glass window on The Tahoe's, Suburban's, Yukon's and Escalade's. Toyota also started putting that on the advanced modal highlanders in 2008 and they still do.

That's a 4 speed auto with overdrive. 2009 is when Ford switched from a 4 speed to 6 speed auto and added more HP to the duratec engine.
