SOLD-OUT!! El Sereno

Great power-point presentation by local historian Charlie Fisher on behalf of the El Sereno Historical Society.
The power-point was presented to the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission on January 16, 2014 as part of our efforts to get the Pacific Electric Soto Street Bridge recognized as a local Historic- Cultural Monument.
Sadly and to no surprise, Councilmember Jose Huizar chose NOT to support saving this special piece of El Sereno's history.
Instead, he chose to sell our history and supported a 15 million dollar project that will destroy the bridge.

I know the bridge was an eyesore and old but El Sereno is the first official city of LA and it would be ideal to have many preserved and historical landmarks to attract tourist and business. The bridge was the location for one of the Christine movie scenes.

that's too bad did not know it was part of the rail cars, I just thought the bridge was old and decaying and the reason the county removed it.

He's still being charged and will be standing trial soon, sometime this year.

I just read that his attorney's filed a motion to dismiss that was denied by a federal judge.
