These are the words of the Royal Engineers' marching song dedicated to Her Majesty in the 19th century and which was sung then and in the Boers' (1900/01). Now some say that it is also for Kings, but I think otherwise: We're the soldiers of the Queen, my lads, Who've been, my lads, Who've seen, my lads, In the fight for England's glory, lads, Of her world-wide glory let us sing! And when we say we've always won, And when they ask us how it's done, We'll proudly point to every one Of England's soldiers of the Queen! Powerful stuff isnt' it? Cheers

Does anyone know which was the music, or if it is still used in some other British marching songs ? Kindly advise. Thank you.

A small but great Island nation that brought civilization as we know it to the world. Of all the European Colonial powers Brittan was far and away the best. When she left her colonies they were better off then when she got them and gave them a model to follow.

Which they were ungrateful for and went on to ignore or otherwise make unworkable upon Britain's departure. So ungrateful ,in fact, they took pot-shots at the departing Tommies for good measure. Also ... be fair to your forefathers ... they brought them actual civilisation (at the very least, a close Anglican approximation thereof) ... not "civilisation as we know it". "Civilisation as we know it" is a bastardised Marxist-Globalist innovation that has next to nothing to do with what the men who marched to this little ditty believed in or fought for, for that matter. The British, through practical experience, also learned that not every man is in fact equal to the task of maintaining the level of civilisation the Empire necessarily brought with it. Most needed supervision. The rest tried to blow it all up. It was only really natural that the competition would seize upon the latter. Those rather nasty conflicts in Europe did not help matters much either, I'd hazard to suggest.

I cannot share your opinion because I am Dutch ;-). What I can say instead: we were liberated by the British in 1944, 1945. And that makes me proud as well. Lest we forget!

@fyvieo but yet, on another youtube video, you call the British people of Northern Ireland "disafected bigots" why can't we thank God that we too, were born British? The only difference is old boy, we have to fight to remain British, you DON'T!!...and i for one hope you never have to. I would suggest to you, that those who have to fight for their British birthright, are more-so than those who don't, and take it for granted. God Save the Queen..(yes, she's my Queen too)
