Great video on how to clean suede. I own several suede products, and all are absolutely gorgeous pieces. From suede loafers, to suede wingtips, to full on suede jackets. Suede is so very difficult to take care of, and this tutorial really helps. Thankful this is posted. Now I can try the method on all my suede, that truly looks like crap at the moment. Holy hell, thanks for this. The cuticle tool worked perfectly. Someone sold back a pair of NB 990v6 to a thrift store, I picked them up, insane deal. It needs some work & definate cleaning...no question, I can see he or she tried to wet clean these also. Lot of rough spots in the suede. Dry brushing helped a bit but damn the cuticle tool is perfect! SUPER soft now. Thank you!

@@stonegang97 you could use a nail cuticle tool like buddies. Or really any slim rounded off piece of metal. I used a nail tool too but not the cuticle tool. It was more or less just something I guess used to dig out underneath finger nails.. as long as it isn't a sharp or jagged piece of metal. Something rounded off. And thin.

Been searching for a tutorial just like this it’s great. I’ve just received some Nike sky hi blue suede trainers from eBay and they’re definitely not as the pics showed well worn and look extremely faded with a strange texture from whatever they’ve tried to clean it with and don’t even get me started on the yellowing of the soles and diamanté swoosh. for a first video, it's an amazing job. This is the best suede cleaning video I've seen (and I've seen a ton of 'em). Quick tip: watch the music volume, dont wanna have it too loud and you could back the music off when youre talking. Yiou did this , but not always.

For sure you can use this method and it'll work just fine. Instead of using the mink oil I would check out "just suede" by NuLifeKicks. It's a new product I've been trying out and it works way better then the mink oil I used for these shoes.

Yeah they changed it whenever they rebranded their company. But you don't have to use that kit. you can buy a white eraser from walamart and then just use a regular medium bristle brush

Brush it first and see if that'll help. You don't always have to use the cuticle pusher. It's only for really stiff clumped up fibers like the suede in the video

Cant really clean deep set stains without risking color loss. This would be the best way to pre clean the suede and then take a microfiber towel, a little bit of “Just Suede”, and clean gently until the stains are out.

you can clean those just like this but it will be a whole lot harder due to it having water damage and it being nubuck. But that Angelus Mink Oil will be your best friend for sure.

Beer suede cleaning I’ve seen so far. My only question is if you’re trying to get stains off of suede would you use water along with the solution cause I’m mad paranoid about it.

Not all time will you need a cleaner. Putting water and sneaker cleaner on suede can damage and lift up the colored dye in the suede which can cause it to fade. I've found using this method removes a lot of stains and ill only ever use water and a cleaner if the suede is grey, white ish, or like the original timb color. If your suede color is any different then those colors then it's most likely dyed suede.

This is not a good method, use a brass bristle brush to reset the suede its looks better and I less time consuming, try to work in one direction though

Those you can actually clean regularly by scrubbing the whole shoe with a soft or medium bristle brush and some good cleaner

How do you ensure the suede is not affected by water when cleaning the outsole? And are there other options or items we can use to "scratch" the suede. Thans!

What I would suggest is when you dip your brush into the sneaker solution you want to make sure you get a very little amount on the bristles. Then a step further would be to shake the brush so you can shake off any excess sneaker solution. This will ensure that you don't have any of the bubbles or anything dripping down onto the suede. As far as tools to scratch the suede, I would say you can use anything that has a point but just make sure it won't tear or damage the suede. So like a butter knife, small/tiny screw driver, old and dull exacto knife, etc. But tbh the cuticle pusher that I'm using in the video was only a couple of dollars so it should be pretty easy to get. I got mine from target or walamart
