You did well to get a pint in the Bank's arms. Last time I was in there, the staff were so slow, I walked out before I fell asleep and went back to the boat 😂

Alex, what’s that app you are using for monitoring your anchorage? You said the name but I didn’t catch it. Thanks! Really enjoying your adventures!

exellent video. love the boat, whats the story behind the name ?
@AlexGoesSailing9 күн бұрын
@ciaranpeterson9422 the second owner imported her to Scotland from America and changed the name to the second to last outer Hebridean island. He always wanted to sail there but never got the chance with his age. He then sadly passed on and the boat got sold. I then did the trip to the island and completed it for him and managed to get in touch with his widow and shared some pictures which she really enjoyed!

Hi Alex, do you carry a liferaft? If not, it may be worth considering how quickly you can inflate and get in the dinghy, particularly with going across the Channel. Before I could afford, or cared about(!) a liferaft we always used to keep the dinghy half inflated on deck. This being on the basis that we might get the other half pumped up pretty quickly and, if not, at least we had half to hang on to if the boat sunk in a hurry! Certainly best not to tow it, as it flips over, or carry it fully inflated on deck as it always tries to escape in heavy weather.
@AlexGoesSailing9 күн бұрын
@@chriscockell no life raft but it does have one in the shed. Main reason for not carrying it is weight and room. I can get the dinghy inflated so fast now with the new pump and even manually. Also having a tri you will definitely have the time to pump it. Also have my epirb ready to go! It’s definitely an interesting conundrum.
@donotwantahandle11118 күн бұрын
Yeah, I'd be towing that dinghy fully inflated especially on a open ocean just in case the tri flipped and you need the dinghy straight away!
