Great review, as always. I am impressed with the innovative design features, providing some of the best packing solutions I can recall ever seeing in a pack. The expansion capability is an arguably seductive feature, but seeing the bag being worn when it is packed to the maximum appeared to present a seemingly awkward carry for the user. I have greatly enjoyed using an expandable soft sided TUMI brief bag for the past three decades, but then I also cursed several past expandable/overloaded backpacks, worn on past hiking excursions, that seemed to bang into and get hung-up on everything along the trail. For a daily user, I think I will stick with a pack that presents a more streamlined profile.

like your review - 1.seems to be a great bag 2. it is sold out 3. tangle management - I do not like loose bands but that is just me 4. when you expand (great feature) make sure what you stuff in there is not heavy because the fabric doesn't look super sturdy - so it might lose shape and to me this feel is annoying, having a heavy extended weight on the back. still a good product

Initially that folding closet looks like a clever feature if you are worried about easy access to all of your clothes in your hotel room. But thinking about it more, is that a real problem? You would either fully unpack or keep your clothes in packing cubes for easy access. Furthermore, that "closet" is comprised of alot of fabric that would take up a lot of space inside the bag.
@alexprachАй бұрын
I think once it is hung on a door frame it's easier to access the stuff inside as it looks smaller when its inside the bag as each compartment is quite tall

@@alexprach Yeah, I understand how the "closet" works. I just don't think the benefits outweigh the downsides.

@@bani_niba Many bags and also clothes have gussets, these gussets add unnecessary cloth and therefore weight when unused, but when used will allow for expansion. Gussets also allow for better shapes and looks, see all the bags where they use folds and elastics to keep cup holders tight to the bag when unused, but the same fabric adds extra weight to the bag. Even packing cubes take up unnecessary space but look nicer than draw string pouches which are smaller, lighter, and can squash into almost any size and shape of crevice, but packing cubes are easier to access if you buy the right sizes. What I'm saying is there's a good reason for it to exist, it might not be a good idea for either of us, but to say it's a bad idea in general.

Maybe it's just me, but, when I see a collaboration with someone who isn't in the business, it usually just means higher price and not more quality.

Even if they are in the business Collaborations are overpriced and limited quantities to make it sell quick

Awesome review! So I have this bag, got it as soon as it was available. I love it. It's my new work bag as I go into the office twice a week and I also travel for a week once a month. Been able to use it as my personal item without issues, fits under the seat no problem on Southwest, American, Delta, and United which I've tried out so far. Now, if it was expanded, it would simply not fit, at that point it's the size of a carry on. Personally, I have no desire on expanding it, unless I don't absolutely need to. While I've not used it for personal travel, I can see this working perfectly for one bag personal item travel for those of us that pack extra light. The hanging closet though... Not a fan, I'll never use it for travel personally. However, it's an amazing and high quality hanging dresser. I hung it on my closet and I use it to keep my underwear, socks, compression shirts, under shirts, and things like that lol. None the less, a great product that is perfect for what I wanted as a daily bad that I can take to the office, gym, coffee shop, to meetings, etc.

Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with the bag! That’s awesome to hear it’s worked out well in those airlines!:)

Have you considered reviewing Hill People Gear packs? Especially Aston 3 (travel/hike) or Junction with Line Pocket (edc/hike) might be up your ally & they don’t have enough reviews online.

Thanks Danny for showing the features of the bag and the really giving the included “closet” a chance. I feel like some reviewers either over-focus or under-focus on the closet. That said, this bag is a weird shape when expanded which makes it barely usable in this form factor. Can’t see myself wanting to use a bag like that except atop a roller bag, but then it would be 2 carry-ons, which isn’t allowed by any airline I know of. Odd choice by Solgaard.

Airlines allow carry on plus personal item. I’ve gotten away with larger bags than this as my “personal item” along with a rolling carry on. However in Europe they tend to be stricter.

Thank you for watching and fair points! The closet is such a cool idea in theory but still feel more comfortable with my packing cubes for the most part 😅 and I agree on the shape when expanded, felt strange to wear it like that
@ThatsPetyАй бұрын
I totally see the idea. The unexpanded shape is small enough to be a personal item bag, even with strict overseas airlines. But if youre in a context where you dont really have a size restriction (like if youre traveling while driving, staying at a local friend's place, etc) the same bag can give you much more space The idea is great imo, and they largely nail it....but like you said, it just sags so much when expanded 😭

How does this compare to Solgaard Venture? Is it just the logos?
@dannypacks14 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching! This is pretty similar to the smaller venture backpack, the other key difference is that this has two zippered pockets on the front whereas the venture has the one taller pocket
