I tried the Gellen, too. My nails were a mess after and I didn’t find it any easier. Alas!

Thanks for doing this. I am curious if you just tried castor oil if that would work better. I feel like all of these are more successful with "peel off base coat" but even then, they seem to take chunks of the top of the nail regardless.

It's possible. I've got peel off base coat on both hands right now, so I'm not able to test it right now. On my next change, I'll keep a few nails without the peel off base coat and give it a try.
