Hawkman saves the Justice League from whatever it is that sets up the punchline. Seriously though a mace, like that’s his actual weapon of choice. It’s cool but I mean what’s the survival rate for his city. Like if you jay walk you might wake up a year later in a hospital.

Well, they were in shock. Plus, they didn't want to risk being on the receiving end. For all Superman knew, Nth metal could count as magic, Batman's just a human with expensive toys (when the writers don't use BS to turn him into a god in all but name), etc. Them trying to physically stop him might cause him to go rogue and a rogue madman with flight, super strength (maybe), medieval weaponry, and a lust for blood is a problem they don't want to deal with.

The funny part to me is that a mace is actually one of the *best* weapons against armor. You don't have to pierce armor in order to kill the person inside. That's what the mace is built for.

That's against chain mail , breast plates and especially modern helmets provide protection against piercing, crush,blunt force etc so the mace indeed made a job with lex assuming he had some short of chain mail esque protection but it ineffective with black manta.

@@DCimmerian I know that,I was just stating the fact that black manta's helmet and modern helmets protect the user from a lot of damage, including and not limited blunt force . In fact maces were used against mail armour, in full plait the mace would need to pierce it in order to inflict damage, the reason they were effective is because everyone used scale mail which was light and protected the user from anything other than mace weaponary . So all in all Luther got folded because he used a type of scale mail whereas black manta had a full metal headgear, in fact the helmet isn't even touching his head for the blunt force argument to have a little credibility, lastly maces had to be striken at the head or the spine, other than that you would be better to use a spear or bow and arrows and that's also a reason as to why the guns introduction slowly made armour extinct among side other weaponary apart from daggers/knives.

Those things dont just cartoon bonk discombobulate people, they smash through metal armor, splinter the metal inwards and crack bone. Given the medical knowledge back then, I dont even think theres a way to defeat someone with a mace that's not going to either kill them down the line via infection or shatter bone right into arteries/organs.

Regardless, I think my statement was kinda the point in D&D. In early editions, Clerics couldn't use blades or sharp ended missile weapons. There's definitely a reason, and I'm pretty sure that it was implying that Clerics, GOOD Clerics, tried to avoid shedding blood. Besides, they can magically heal wounds.

actually yeah, that mace is very strong, made of Nth metal. He can kill a ghost with it if he had to, its strong and bull shit in abilitys. It has several support and offence qualities. honestly it should've broken mantas helmet realistically, especially since MACES ARE DESIGNED TO BREAK HELMETS, but mantas helmet is tough as it protects him from deep underwater pressure, and with super friends logic, I can see how the oroginal show would think helmet beats mace.

I mean, think about it: whose fault is it that the Joker is alive? The caped crusader who can only continue his crime-fighting spree so long as he avoids killing? If memory serves, blunt force trauma weapons like maces and hammers were the favored means of dealing with chain mail, which was resistant to being cut or pierced. Were they also used for plate mail?

@@calebowens693 Yes. Pretty sure piercing weapons like Pikes were made against chain mail, focussing on one ring and bending it apart to pierce through. It's just that blunt force always works. But Plate Mail was made to make blades (and spikes) slide off and deflect. Blunt weapons would instead batter the armor with greater impact force instead of cutting or piercing power. Best case (for the attacker) it would also bend the armor, handicapping the opponent with movement (joints), breathing (chestplate) or sight (helmet).
