Hello, very nice video. I have a question: does this program makes the runner the minimun necesary for filling the cavity? I mean, lets say that at the initial step of assigning dimensions I used a cross section too high, will the program correct that cross section so that the runner will be as small as possible, or it is a manual process and I have to use results parameters to see that ?

Awesome video! I wonder if the same theory can be applied to casting with risers for home use.

SOLIDWORKS Plastics is best used with plastics/polymers, and isn’t recommended for accurate predictions of the casting process. GoEngineer offers another product, Altair Inspire Cast, if you’re looking to analyze the casting process. Please check out our website for more information! www.goengineer.com/products/solidthinking-click2cast/

First check the license you have access to - runner design comes with Plastics Professional, the middle license. www.goengineer.com/solidworks/simulation/plastics#matrix. It’s possible that you have Plastics Standard where runner design wouldn’t be allowed. Secondly, check if that STEP file has imported as a SOLIDWORKS assembly (.sldasm file extension). SOLIDWORKS Plastics doesn’t work with assembly files, and only Plastics Professional and higher work with multi-body parts. If your STEP has imported as an .sldasm, do a Save As to get that into a part form. If you are using Plastics Standard, then use the Combine feature to merge disparate parts together. If this doesn’t help, it is likely too difficult for us to troubleshoot through comments. I recommend you reach out to your local reseller’s technical support line for a screen share.

@@goengineer Thanks for clarification i sorted out but i have other question.. i set runner system and simulated looks like the injection simulation was ok smoothly and covered everywhere in plastic part..and i tried to use balancing runner it canculated automaticlly and run as normal simulation ..i saw some video which balancing runner it corrected runner size each detail automarically od of runner changed aoutomatically.. iny case i have two parts and no working balancing what i should do or what i did wrong...your help really needs and appreciated
