Good stuff! When we last touched on this I expressed my non enjoyment of trying a full bed of Solinco Tour Bite in 1.10 at ~22lbs. Since, I revisited the experiment: I did the remaining half of Tour Bite 1.10 from that set in the mains, and did a hybrid with 305 1.10 in the crosses, both at 20lbs: Result? Still felt too stiff, and hollow. So I scrapped that too. The most current reiteration that is actually still in my racquet, and that I will be playing with tonight: Solinco Tour Bite 20g/1.05 in the mains at 18lbs, and a black multilament called Python Atlas Deluxe at 20lbs - I just picked it because I had it laying around, and it and is in 1.15 gauge, and more importantly, it's black, (the grey/black combo of this string setup looks far better than grey and green!). If I had some laying around, it would have been Tecnifibre Dynamix VP in 1.15 instead as the cross string. Results? Not bad after adjusting to it with a few games. Cut is amazing, feel and sound is so-so, and the hollow-ness is still there, that is just something I think the nature of the poly will give when playing in a squash racquet. All in all though, I like it, and there is something here worth seeking out, so much so that I've left it as is, and tonight will be my 3rd session trying it out, and yes as you mentioned there near the end of your vid, the Poly must be in the mains really to boast any benefit of using the poly in the first place. It's pretty funny, the sound the strings make when the ball comes off my racquet is far deeper and louder, with a thicker/hollow sounding "thud" than the people I play with using regular squash multifilaments or synthetic gut. They just look at me like "what's up with your racquet?" 😂

Whoa! I've actually never thought about giving racquetball strings a try! I'd never heard of Python Atlas until you mentioned it. It seems like it's similar to Tecnifibre 305 (in the sense that it frays), especially since you compared it to Dynamix? I like that they advertised a soft, trampoline effect; it's definitely up my alley! I'll give it a go some time. Your experiment just lends credence to what I want to do, which is to hybrid this with my string of choice: Ashaway SuperNick ZX Micro. I'll report back soon. 🫡 I just tried ~15 lbs with Hyper-G, which I thought played way better that at 20 lbs. I'll add a lot more detail in the final review. Yeah the sound is a bit weird for sure, to me it sounded like my frame had cracked. 🤣 Let me know if you've done some other interesting experiments! Always curious to hear about 'em!

Yeah that Python string is very similar to something else... lol have you ever tried Ashaway Multi Nick 18? It's literally almost a carbon copy for a fraction of the price 😂 I'll be looking forward to seeing your video/thoughts when you do try that hybrid out with SNZX M - that should also work out nicely if you're going to keep using the 1.25 Hyper-G in the mains with it- because I have heard of this somewhere, and since then, it just makes sense to me, and I'm a firm believer: Having a thicker gauge main string, and a thinner gauge cross string, will help boost spin potential due to the fact that the mains will stick up higher out of the string bed slightly than the crosses, it will provide a nice little pocket between the strings for the ball so when you hit any top spin, or in the case for Squash when we want to slice and cut the ball a lot, I think it will really help accentuate the spin potential 😁

I have never tried Multi Nick; I know, shocker seeing how much I like soft strings and how much I identify with Diego Elias' playing style! I have a set of it that I will make a review on soon, probably in the Sept/Oct timeframe. I'm planning a deep dive in to hybrids with squash, since that's not really a thing there for some reason. Hopefully I can start a trend! 🤣 I've heard that thicker main theory before; I'm not sure if I'm convinced yet, but I just tried this out in a tennis racket and got more spin than I expected so I guess maybe there is something to it! I'll try this out in a squash racket and report back! Sorry for the slower pace on videos, I only have so much time and I play six different racket sports lol!
