The great thing about the 3 stoves you featured in this series is that they all work well depending on your set up and what you want to do. I think out of the 3 stoves I would add the cat stove to my inventory as another option. It's just so simple. Thanks buddy!

Do I have to separate the two of you!? :) Yeah, I think that a person could get two of these stoves, like the Fancee Feest & SoLight and never need a third stove unless of course something happened to one. It's fun to throw a mug in your pack with nothing but 2oz of fuel and a cat stove to see you through the day.

Loved the serie. Kind'new and interesting boiling method for me, for the first time,I'm intrigued! Loved the quietness of these stoves, a small but joyfull attribute!

Thanks cadrician. They're definitely intriguing little devices. When I was younger I was first taught how to boil and cook on fires and then when I was old enough to buy a canister stove I used them almost exclusively for 12-14 years. Then I got hooked on alcohol...cough cough. They're sort of unbeatable for light work.

Thanks DC. I was thinking of picking up an actual SoLite tonight at Sportsman's warehouse but they were out of stock. Thanks for watching.

Thanks man, got me thinking about the Solite stove. Gonna start looking for a good 5 inch pot to go with it. Thinking of the Sea to Summit pot

+Fahrenheit38 Cool man! Yeah it's a little beast and probably the highest output alcohol stove I own. It will go through fuel a little more quickly than my other stoves.

+Fahrenheit38 Sounds like a good choice. I use the kettle and the GSI boiler 1.8L usually

There's just something about alcohol stoves that fascinate me. Not sure why. It's probably the fact that I can make my own for pennies. "I'm not cheap...I'm thrifty!" 😉

I agree! It's interesting how simple they are and how well they work. It's also neat that they work on a variety of somewhat similar fuels. The blue flames are memorizing when you're quietly cooking up something in camp too. :)

i see your point too, its about no moving parts, availability of alcohol, alcohol will burn well enough in a tuna can to at least boil some water or eat a hot meal, i hate to use the word 'prepper' but its a very handy design to keep around or for a powercut too

Haha I have that same coleman pot. I found it at a thrift store for $3. I like the sideburner one made from the water bottle. Thanks for the tip on how to extinguish that stove. I have a similar one. Any tips on how to reclaim the unburned fuel?
@Patriot369 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that little thing is holding up pretty well! Come to think of it.... I think it's a Stansport but perhaps Coleman as slapping their name on them as well. To reclaim the unburned fuel, just hold the bottle or container under the stove and tilt the stove until fuel starts to drip out of the side burner holes. It will come out the holes, run down the side of the stove wall and drip off the bottle edge of the stove into your container. I actually showed this in the video but perhaps it was unclear from the angle?

Duh. How did I miss that?! I was probably distracted at that point by something going on at my end. I watched it again. Thanks for the reply! Great video!

So this was a copy made off of an actual stove then? What did you make this out of? It looks like a stainless steel bottle of some sort... or is it one of those aluminum beer bottles. Not that I'm going to make this or anything, just curious! Thanks for any info! :)
