I think it's fair, not an exploit. Exiles is filled with hidden tricks to use. The Devs know by now that pots block AI pathing, but leave it in. Siptah is supposed to be solo-able but on PvP servers the Leyshrines are definitely not. You just get killed and looted by the clans. You start out solo for sure. Many clans on my server just use noobs as slaves for a few days or a week then boot them and take their stuff. Jolly good? No. So I solo mostly.

Your character needs a thong and motorcycle jacket. :P I use 'perching' all the time as I play archer or harvester builds a lot (remember your harvester build, oh, 2 years ago?). My favorite fight is to get the King Rhino and Red Dragon to fight each other, using Set arrows to balance the fight, or lure multiple mastadons into New Asgard. The last one doesn't work as well since they upgraded the residents. I also set up a hunting stand near the King Scorpion outside Semparu, complete with teapot and coffee cups. ​@Ramon Koda They just hate being bested. I stopped making suggestions years ago when they patched a harmless trick that helped the visually impaired play the game more comfortably. No effect on game play. I even got a thank you from the community manager and f*** you from the devs. I found a work around to it but it shows an entire lack of empathy and social understanding. Like running over kittens because they were in the gutter and you were driving.

They haven't fixed the AI since the game launched.. in fact the way work now is the ONLY change they made to the AI so that you can cheese them. Working as intended. In fact you don't even need to block the stairs with jars, you just need a bow and blunted arrows. Wear some armour, find some nearby rocks you can duck behind and stand on and the AI won't know how to get to you... knock em all out.

Yup, been doing this all week (minus the Sherpa). Took me a bit to figure out to block the stairs, which caused some quick deaths the first few times, but once that was figured out...all good!

@@GothicElf68 Well, to be fair, he did say that you won't need Twice-Upon-An-Arrow for that and shows that it can be done with any bow in the end. Also, I don't think this method is expensive in any way and the only thing requiring a somewhat decent level are blunted arrows (lvl 35) and the jars (lvl 35), which are the only expensive thing you need. . Any level might be a bit overexaggerated, yes, but I think he means basically that this method is doable even with 0 stats total.

I don't have any problem with this video. Siptah is so frustrating and poorly balanced, that any kind of cheesy strategy is just fine with me. I can't wait for the maps to be connected so we can have fun in Siptah but still play real Conan.

perching and archery isn't really cheesy. Its smart. I don't use thralls for combat, which I consider the ultimate cheese. Just my $0.02. Btw, thumbs up, great comment!

Is surge better than just running a good thrall loop? I modified Waks to add 2 more + the red mother loot. And learned how to essentially cheese her with feroxic daggers, no damage = easy peasy

Just attack her right front paw (to your left), when she attacks, roll inward and hit her thigh. When she does the tail whip, walk counterclockwise and dodge when she does the butt wiggle. It puts your i-frames in the right spot to dodge once and done through it

Anything that counts as furniture or building pieces can't be put anywhere near leyshrines, so no flower pots.

Leyshrines are no-building zones, so the explosive jar is the only thing you can place there.

PVP servers the surge is a pain in the ass because people show up to kill you. I don't see this working on a PVP server unless nobody was online.

That's because map was poorly designed. When they thought of this idea the first thing they should have thought of was what would this experience be like for a solo player. But they obviously didn't they probably imagined epic large clan battles. But that's just not the way these games work.

All this effort, just setup a pack of thralls a small distance from the shrine and kite the enemies into it, jobs done.

Exactly how I do it. I usually bring 3 thralls that I park just outside the aggro range, use the platform stun mechanism and kite the rest to my thralls. No other way for me to to fight solo against 5-8 of those enemies.

@Gooseacat Wrong. The new map brought with it an update that effects the base game also and yes the entire update like the healing system is EA because they are of course using the playerbase as beta testers and will make many more changes.

@Gooseacat The argument wasnt about the healing changes being good or not. It was a criticism of releasing an xpac/update for an ostensibly already released game into EA again. Ive got over 2k hours on pvp servers and I just cant stomach playing anymore because there are SO MANY issues that arise when you have a populated server. Its just not even fun. Its like the minute I start to have fun, there is some recurring issue/ server crashes/ etc that make it absolutely unbearable.

I don't know, you basically need lvl 35 for that method, which can be achieved in about 2 hours after character creation and everything except for the explosive jars is just sticks with a little bit of iron and feathers here and there. Realisticly speaking, you'll most likely be lvl 40+ when you are spawning the surge, since you'd have to farm essences in the storm for it first and the easiest way to do that before your first overcharged surge is to kill Ambush Elder Things with poison gas arrows, which take lvl 38 to craft. . So yeah, probably not late game stuff, but it's surely mid game content for a solo player, no matter what you do.

Well once upon a time I played a game called Asheron's Call. I ran a UI interface and script to autokill everything around me. I would go to bed and the next morning, the landscape was litttered with loot and that slowed down the server . . . until the scavengers showed up. They were all 'red dots', meaning PK, and broke. Essentially, the two major PK guilds demanded that you make xp (in a clan, the person above you got a percentage of your xp) and gp value for the guild. Being a 'white dot' (PvE), they could not attack me and I didn't care about the loot. I used to watch the battles over who got rights to the Lewt Field. I would offer suggestions for spells and counter spells. Anyways, the devs were distinctly unhappy, not over the slow server but I was ruining the economy with all the free lewt. I had a message, really a summons, from the head of the largest PK guild. He told me he had a message from the devs to tell me to stop and told him, no, I wanted the xp and YOUR clan members needed the loot because they were so broke they could not afford spell components. I wasn't going to stop til either the PK clans changed their policy or the devs changed the economy. For awhile, he camped my area and got the kills, but I just moved a click or two. Eventually he gave up and the devs banned bots (unattended playing was ruled cheating) and the PK's didn't have to scavenge for loot any more because the devs did indeed change the economy. My point is so, maybe the whole server population will show up. Maybe it would be a cooperative effort and not just a feeding frenzy like a pack of reef sharks. You get a rep as a helper or a punk. If a bunch of punks rule the server, everyone else will just leave . . . and play on a private server, like Sparky, Wak, etc. And the punks can be punks by themselves. Just my $0.02.
