Love this build already! I've spent so much time in the Adirondack Mountains of Northern NY State, so the Adirondack in the title had me excited right from the start. Although, your videos are pretty much always great no matter what. When you clean out those notches, save that wood it's awesome for re igniting a shouldering fire.

I saw your cabin in a thumbnail for what must have been part 3 but when it mentioned part one and two, I immediately clicked to watch part one because I wanted to see it from the ground up so to speak. First time seeing your work. Your skill with the timbers is certainly impressive, but what I want to comment on is your video making. I make music videos and we can do as many takes as it takes to get the shots we want. I've also made some vids showing how I built a shop, a shed, a recording studio editing suite etc. but each time I did those I was in a hurry to finish the buildings so I could use them so the video suffered as a result compared to my music vids which I don't rush. I only said that because it helps you understand why I watch for someone's skill in editing and story telling etc. You did an excellent job on this video. Your changing of angles and points of interest and the flow involved in the story telling, just excellent. I'm constantly balancing my ADD with my OCD lol. But you kept my attention the entire 28 minutes the way you let it evolve. Kudos my friend. New sub here.

That will be a nice log cabin. I saw an Alaskan trapper building one and he ran the chain saw between the logs to lesion the amount of moss he had to fill in the gaps. Tip of the day. Next episode looks good too using Alaskan saw mill.
@KentSurvival2 жыл бұрын
yeah.. its probably not that clear but i do have gaps ready to be filled with the moss from the old a frame shelter thats dried out :) haha yeah, those mills are harder work than i thought haha

Oh Good Andy your building a Log shelter and your doing it the right way, the only thing I would do is put packing, between the logs like moss before penning them down. good luck hope it go's well. For the next shelter if you do it you should try building a Dugout shelter they look good with just the roof showing.
@KentSurvival2 жыл бұрын
Cheers. yeah, ill chink with moss when im done with the roof... should be nicely dried from the a frame :) Next up is a cruck frame. I wouldnt mind a dug out but it seems a little 'destructive' for want of a better word in a smallish woodland

Awesome video Andy, definitely going to be a labour of love, man start using a drill for the dowel holes nobody expects you to do it all by hand, after all you are using a chainsaw, so a drill won't harm. You've got me gripped for follow up videos on this build now, all the best from Chatham, Kent
