I spent 25 years “camping” with the US Army. I retired 24 years ago from the army and swore I would never go back to the woods and tents. However I discovered your videos a few weeks ago and the views and situations you portray sure makes me want to return, where it be a cold camp, hot camp, or wild. Thanks for the work you do. I know it is easy to set up and take down camp, let alone trekking with the necessary equipment. Then on top of that you take the hours to edit the video. I appreciate you work. Thank you !

I remember many years ago being in a hut in the forest with snow 2m deep around the hut with over hanging trees covered in snow. I couldn't wait to get the fire going. When the fire was roaring the stillness of the forest was cancelled, all night, as the fire roared, the hot thermals melted the snow on the overhanging branches, and it came crashing down on to the roof. It kept me awake all-night, no respite. That's what was happening to you. I now take a long length of Cord with me, and when it's snowing, I tie a small log to the cord throw it over the branches and shake the hell out of them, it works well. Enjoyed the video ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ 😀😀

I've only camped once in a wood during a snowstorm and never again. This was in Derbyshire in the 90s, some mates and I thought it fun to set up a makeshift camp with about a foot of snow on the ground. We used some tarpaulin to cover the three of us, set up against a big rock with a fire keeping us warm. During the night, the wind picked up and all the ice from the trees started to drop, which shredded the tarp and took out the fire. We ended up walking home in a blizzard at 3am in the morning. My parents weren't too impressed being woken but hey.

I’ll snow camp vicariously through you. First because I don’t don’t do cold very well. Second because I don’t have the right equipment. But primarily because we don’t get snow down where I live (maybe a dusting every decade or so), and when it does snow, the city is basically shut down. PS - do you have to assemble IKEA meatballs yourself? 😂

Love hot tents used mine in the states at Elk camp, the only problem I see is that the stoves are so small they would be a pain keeping them going as you can’t put enough wood into them for a decent burn time ,some of the stoves in the us are as big as oil drums ,they would burn for hours . Great vid well done
