This was a nice relaxing solo overnight trip where I stayed the night in my car while the rain came down.

Hey Roger, I hope you liked the videos. I chose an SUV mainly because of the fuel costs being a bit cheaper and such. I'd love a bigger 4wd but it wasn't quite in the budget. The frame of the set up in the car wasn't that expensive as it is just a bunch of 2x4 and some flat pack shelving and plywood. It's not perfect but it does the job. The expensive things were the fridge, power station, solar panel, awning and roof rack, which probably totalled 2 grand (NZD) roughly. Those are all luxury items though and aren't 100% necessary. @@BackcountryKiwi thanks for the reply. I have recently purchased an SUV, and have over the last 8-10 months acquired the solar. Power box, and fridge. As you said luxury items, but useful items when camping, and keeping electronic items charged etc etc. The internal set up of your SUV caught my eye because it looked like you had put a fair amount of thought and time into getting it set up
