Jenn, I just finished this series. I loved it. I want to encourage you to continue to go on solo cruises and everything else to take care of yourself. When my kids were young, my husband traveled for work. I had a physically and emotional demanding job. There was a lot of paperwork, which I was pretty slow at since I have dyslexia and ADHD. I always put my family first and my job a close second. Unfortunately, everything I was doing was too much. I was raised to push through, so I did. I was prescribed medication to help. I gained a ton of weight over 14 years and slowly lost much of my mobility. Today in my late 40’s, I am disabled and in constant pain. I was able to go off all medication. I am slowly losing weight and regaining my mobility. I hope you continue to take care of yourself. I hope others continue to celebrate those who take care of themselves. Most of all I hope that anyone reading this will value balance and learn to admit when something is too hard. It is not a weakness to admit when you need help or a change. I have to look weakness in the mirror every day and decide to be strong.

It kind of amazes me when people ask, "How do I get my husband and kids to let me go/do ....?" I will discuss timing and our calendar with my husband, but I never have to ask permission to go do something. He is always supportive of anything I want to do. He is not a fan of traveling, but I am. So a lot of times it's either a solo trip for me, or I go with our two boys. The vlogs were wonderful! I'm so glad you had a good time.

Does he ever go with you guys on trips? I am not judging at all, but I would hate for him in his order years to regret not taking trips with his family. I've seen it with some people I personally know. Every day life is wonderful, but things like vacations are a lot of the memories you look back on.

@@imakeajiffypuff4525 Yes, of course he goes with us on trips. He just doesn't like to travel to the extent that I do. He also is not a fan of cruises, and the boys and I love them. I also get way more vacation each year than he does. Our boys play club sports, so we have to travel a lot for games and tournaments. We save his vacation time so he can travel with us to attend their games, and of course for our annual family vacation.

I loved getting this little mini series. I obviously love Tim but I loved “spending time” with you for the weekend too. I’m glad you got to have some fun. It seems like a lot of times it’s Tim that gets to go to the parks more, and do more of the fun stuff, so it seems perfectly fair for you to get a weekend cruise.

My husband is not a fan of cruising. I go solo once a year. Love it. Highly recommend. Cancel, schmancel. I do it because it makes me happy! I do it because i am a contributing member of the household. Husbands do cars, kids do activities. Everyone gets something just for them. Own it ladies.

My solo "mom needs a break" trip is coming down to Universal for two nights. I've done this 1-2x a year for the past 3 years. Taking some space and time to do what you want to do / focus on you as a mom and just a human is so important.

I don't understand why people were criticizing you for going on the trip alone. You do you! It looked like you had an amazing time, and it did look very safe and enjoyable. I have low vision so I have a white cane like Tim's dad and am visibly disabled, and sometimes I do feel unsafe traveling (especially in unfamiliar areas) because people are creeps! But this series made me so happy and made me feel a little more comfortable going on a solo cruise like you did. I'm so happy for you, and you should get to do fun stuff! I absolutely love being by myself on trips, but of course always being aware of my surroundings and being safe at the same time. It was great to see how you used your time for you.

You did an amazing job, Jenn! I loved this series so much! I recently went on a semi-alone trip to Walt Disney World in June. I was there for work, so I did have times I needed to meet with people. But for the majority of the 3 day trip, I was alone. I did things I don’t normally get to do when I’m traveling with my husband and boys. Of course, I missed them. But in some ways, it was the best trip I’ve ever been on. Highly recommend!

I have absolutely enjoyed your solo Cruise series. I 100% agree with you that each person deserves alone time. My first solo trip was for my 40th birthday too! It was wonderful. I was able to get a hotel stay for a weekend and went between going to Universal and Legoland and taking pictures and video footage I normally couldn't take when I was with the family because we would always be rushing to rides. Now I need to do a cruise alone but first after me and the family go together. This has inspired me to book a trip from myself on a cruise as well. I know I've said it before in a previous comment... I am just so happy you were able to do this and you were able to keep the courage to go by yourself. You have been a true inspiration over these years I have been watching this channel. I'm glad you had this solo time. I took a solo cruise in 1984 on a Carnival ship. The problems I had then wouldn't even happen now. (it was before the internet and rules have changed since then). I bet I would have a much better time now even if not on a Disney cruise. I recommend a solo cruise for anyone. I also solo traveled to England two years later. BE BRAVE!

You can go down to the Health Center/Office (deck 1 or 2 depending on ship) and get motion sickness pill packs for free. They usually have a container box hanging outside the door and you can just walk up and grab as much as you need.

Hey! If you have Oliver’s car seat installed with the seatbelt it may need some adjustment! Definitely double check the manual but it looks like the shoulder belt is not the car seat belt path. I think you guys used Britax clicktights in the past. So if that’s a britax clicktight then both the shoulder belt and lap belt go through the clicktight panel ❤️

I am booked on the treasure in February but had a little anxiety about going solo. I ended up booking an Alaskan cruise this past May on NCL to get me use to the idea. I am really nervous about having to sit with strangers during dinner so thank you for posting your experience because it has helped me not worry about it too much now.

If you get motion sick while on the ship you can go to the sick bay /infirmary area and tell them you are experiencing nausea and they will give you generic Dramamine for free.
