The scorn are on a timer so I always try to weaken them with two fusion or sniper shots and then wait until the totem spawns. Congrats on getting it done though!

Honestly, the first boss is very annoying. You can use a blade barrage build and play slow for an easier kill. Remember in dungeons you can take as long as you want (for the most part) in between damage phases.

A lot of people like mobility on hunter but, the cooldown is so short that I don't really feel like it's needed. The main reason I like discipline is because it cuts the healing grenade time way down.

Nope. It is a bug that sometimes happens with nighthawk. I’m not sure what causes it, but sometimes it does double damage. Worked in my favor here. I think I’ve had this happen maybe 2 or 3 times in all my runs.

When you switch loadouts make sure you have the exact same super, aspects and fragments. Also make sure the aspects and fragments are in the exact same order in the menu.

It took me 41 minutes with only Lucky Pants and Celestial Nighthawk, but the damage done with Shards of Galanor on Ogre boss is disgusting, which was the difference with my run. 10/10 run IMO. Also, what the hell was the Celestial damage during Second Phase of Rathil, that is not normal.

Sorry I keep commenting on your video bro, but can you explain the armor charge function specifically for second boss? I see you run three charged up mods on your assassins cowl loadout, then when you switch to shards dps loadout it goes down from 6 armor charges to three charge, do you get to keep the three charges you built when you switch loadouts? Additionally, so armor charges proc as soon as you switch to your dps loadout because of the weapon surges right? It’s why you use two time dilation mods right? And the only way to prolong your armor charges is by collecting more orbs, is that how it works?

I like reading your comments. All of what you said is correct. I run 3x charged up while picking up orbs and that stacks up to 6. When I switch to a non charged up chest piece, it retains the 6 charged up mods even though you don’t see it on screen. When switching to the DPS loadout it starts the surge mod timer. Since I retain the charges, it’ll be 6 charges x 18 seconds of surge. I only use charged up here because the fight is generally easy to survive in and the damage phase is very long. Hopefully that clarifies everything!

I’ve been practicing second boss even though I’ve solo flawlessed it on warlock, but want to do it on hunter as well, and your video to this day is still my favorite reference compared to the other solo flawlesses out there. Yours is just clean and efficient, so good. Makes so much sense now why certain dps phases I have, I do at least half health and other dps phases I only do a fourth. Makes so much more sense now, I would dps too late not taking advantage of the armor charges. Thank you so much.

The fragment called Ember of Solace makes Radiant and Restoration last longer. Pair that with the fragment Ember of Empyrean to extend it on solar kills. It will cap out at 12 seconds.

There are a few ways super generates in this scenario: 1. Shards of Galanor refund part of the super based on blades hit from casting the super. 2. Shards of Galanor grants 2.5-5% super energy per knife from my melee ability. 3. Any passive damage constantly generates super. Since Dragon’s Breath is doing damage over time, that is constantly generating super. 4. Any active damage also generates super. I don’t know what it is with fusion rifles, but they seem to generate a lot of super when shooting them at a boss. 5. The dynamo helmet mod will also generate super energy when using your class ability near a target. I can’t remember if I am using that in this build or not, but it certainly helps.

Ive gotten to last boss twice now but i am not able to do it. My problem is the hex corruption and also when the dps starts it spawns a heck ton of ads which almost always kills me. Got any tips? Also first time i got to last boss was on warlock but i main hunter and also got the last boss on hunter.

I always make sure all psions are gone before I destroy the last eye to spawn the chieftains. Capture the hex, melee the guy, and then before I do damage I always kill the psions again so they don’t replicate. Generally right as damage starts 2 waves of 4 psions will spawn. My best advice is always prioritize adds and remember you have infinite time. If you think you aren’t going to survive while capturing a totem, run away and prioritize life.

The Volta Bracket from Neomuna is the same RPM, but I would just use Scatter Signal if you don’t have that sniper.

The only trick I’ve heard of is to emote and it’ll let you go in 3rd person to better find the acolyte eyes. I find it easier to just look around for them though.

Thank you! The most important thing to note is to not get greedy for damage during the damage phases. You can walk away from the torches until about x6 or x7 of biting cold before you need to run back. Just make sure adds are cleared as much as possible since shards doesn’t have any passive healing capability.

Kinetic surge x2 used to work with golden gun. It has been patched though. Now it’s best to just run triple surges of your primary dps weapon.

I’m just now getting back into the game since spring or so. Does higher light level make this a bit easier? I’m currently 1816 and I can’t even burn the yellow bars down as fast as this.

It depends. You can outlevel enemies by +20 I believe. This dungeon has 3 encounters that all slowly increase in level. The first is 1790. The second is 1800. The third is 1810. To be the most effective you want to be 1830. I don’t know the exact numbers, but every level matters up to 1830.

You have to make sure whatever loadout you are switching to matches the super, abilities, aspects, and fragments and in the same order on the subclass info screen. Even though I'm switching "loadouts", all I'm really switching are armor mods.

You have to make sure in the loadouts screen that your super, aspects, and fragments are all in the same order between the two classes. I'm not sure the command on controller, but if you right click a loadout on mouse you can see the list of aspects and fragments. I hope this helps!

I plan on running this back on Hunter sometime soon now that Bungie patched Kinetic Surges stacking with Golden Gun. I'm curious to see the difference in damage.

How are you getting half your super back during second boss? I tried using shards of galanor but everytime I do it I can only get like a max of 25% back. I read that you may need to kill an enemy as well as hit all the blades but I believe a few times you only hit every blade on the boss without killing anything and still got 50% back. Can you help me out at all? Edit: I see the other comment about this but I just wanted to address the amount of super gained not how you are doing it

1. I use the fragment called “ember of singeing” which generates my class ability while targets are scorched. 2. I shoot the Dragons Breath rocket every 4 fusion shots or so to keep the boss scorched. 3. I use the 2 fusion rifles for damage because damaging a boss with a fusion rifle gives a TON of super energy. 4. I make sure to dodge whenever I can to get my knives back so I can continue scorching the boss/adds. I hope this helps!

I hate this Solo dungeon so much, the first 2 bosses are fine, but the final boss is way to hard. Also, your build is useless unless you know what you need to do with the Build. I dont fucking know how u even got that 1 mil Shot with your super.

To get the big damage, you need to make sure you meet the following conditions before shooting the Golden Gun. 1. Activate the Golden Gun - Marksman super while wearing Celestial Nighthawk. 2. Become Radiant by throwing your melee at the boss (must have on the Ember of Torches fragment) 3. Make sure you have Revitalizing Blast from the artifact, which weakens bosses or champions after they are hit by a solar ability. 4. Make sure you have Solo Operative on, which is a flat damage increase while playing solo.
