Well Folks, I have a much more interesting camping adventure to share with you all. This time hiking three Munro summits over 28km with a wild camp in the middle of it. The Creag Pitridh Munros have been on my mind now for a good few months and I was happy to finally complete it.

Fantastic camp Gaz - nice one seeing the Aurora - not sure I’d have been out timelapsing as it looked super cold - great effort and great rewards 👍 ATB Murray

Thanks Murray👍 To finally see the Aurora up north was something very special. Just a shame I missed the best of it that night. It was a great weekend away with part two with big Monty to be shared next Wednesday. Hope you’re doing well. ATB Gaz

Thanks Robin, never thought I would say one of my all time favourite camps would be on Creag Pitridh. The A86 Munros have been great so far. Just the Grey Corries and the two Aonachs to do in the area.

Thanks Dingo. I had plans to capture the Aurora better once out the tent but it unfortunately faded away by the time I sorted my filming gear out. Maybe get to see more Auroras this winter when it’s dark again for longer. ATB Gaz

Not much between Geal Charn and Creag Pitridh like. The tent pitch was a nice find. Some great views considering the height of the Munro I was on. ATB

Good stuff Gaz , i was watching all the snow showers over the hills you were on from the Culra 4 that day, i got the snow showers basically when i was off the 4 th Munro. Good see what i'm in for on the those hills you done, i'll get them this year sometime ..Brilliant getting the aurora , i popped my head out of the tent about midnight and i could something was going on in the sky but i had no energy to get up lol...nice one mate ...Stevie

Thanks Stevie, when I looked out for the Aurora it was 1am that night. Unfortunately I must of missed it when it was at its strongest. It’s honestly a great round of Munros and one route you would definitely enjoy walking with your dogs. I would recommend dropping off Creag Pitridh and camping where I went at about 750 metres roughly. Laggan is an underrated area in Scotland in my opinion.. much better than people make out. ATB Gaz

I don't think I could sit in the cold snow for an hour to see an aurora, but this is perhaps why there are those who check that off the bucket list and those who don't. Best video in a long time, enjoyed it.

Trust me it takes a lot of effort to get out the sleeping bag when the tent is frozen solid. Only the Aurora was going to get me out at 1am. Felt lucky to see it for the limited time I did see it and I hope when the dark nights come back I will start chasing the Aurora properly camping on summits. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for your comment, ATB Gaz

Nice video. I wonder why you took the Enan and not the Soulo in those conditions? Cause the weight? I have the same tents too (Soulo, Nallo 2, Akto) but always I take the Nallo 2 because it is more roomy for the winter.
@GazTheExplorer
@GazTheExplorer 4 ай бұрын
It’s a combination of the distance I walked and the weight saved taking the Enan. Worked out okay for this trip but I did use this tent for another camp that same weekend with Monty and did say I wished I had another tent. This trip was filmed around the end of April so plenty of daylight thankfully. ATB Gaz
