3:26 This is the real East Europe /Bulgarian/ Citizen . People like that lady build modern Europa/Bulgaria after WW2 - often for free , or for disrespectful salary !!! This noble old generation slowly disappearing . They were brought up in noble qualities such as honesty, kindness, mutual aid and to be worthy as people in their country . For sure that lady retire payment is not more than 100€ per month , but she pay your coffee . She deserve a flowers from you , and be sure she remember you till end of her life .

"Try not to get robbed" said in a perfectly safe neighborhood 😁. You might get robbed eventually in Fakulteto, and only if you are disrespectful to the gypsies there. Sofia is incredibly safe. When I used to live there a few years ago, I would go home in the middle of the night alone, sometimes in a miniskirt, and I never for a second felt unsafe. The only people who have ever made any problems were Dutch and British tourists who think they are irresistible to Eastern European women.

Sofia is safer than London, a great capital and not much crime. It’s people like you who give the place false impressions. Example it’s a unsafe place there was maybe 3 people on the street, then an old lady buys you a coffee lol

I did a inter-rail trip two years ago when I turned 18 so me and my friend went to travel trough Eastern Europe down to Greece and then trough Italy and Central Europe on our way back. We didn’t get any problems anywhere when travelling trough Former communist countries as Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria but when we entered Greece everything suddenly changed. Guys begging, trying to rob you etc and that was a current theme travelling back trough Central Europe. Just didn’t feel as safe at all compared to Eastern Europe.

You were in Sveta Troitsa area in Sofia and that's NOT a tough neighbourhood but a very normal place like most other neighbourhoods in Sofia. I have lived in Sofia for 6 years and being an Indian and a different colour person, i still always found it to be one of the safest cities I have lived in. I have pretty much walked around in various parts of Sofia in all odd hours from middle of the night to early mornings - never really had any safety issue.

I moved to Bulgaria around the time this was uploaded. Almost offensive how much this guy tries to demonise Sofia and various parts of it, beautiful city and despite most places speaking good English I think it's terrible when people don't even try to speak Bulgarian properly. Learn to use translator apps and communicate without being a self-entitled tourist and you'll have a much better experience than Kurt does in most of his videos.
