Firemen have come to my rescue several times. Not because of fire, but because I'm a type 1 diabetic and they're often the first ones to show up when we call emergency. They have saved my life more than once here in the U.S. and I just want to thank you for the work you do there. Thank your dog for being your partner on the job as well. I also was wandering if your dog is a Belgian Malinois. If so, that would explain why he loves to run...

Hey Simon, I love your videos! I try to save my tarp setups for Winter and Fall (no mosquitoes). During Spring & Summer, I usually use a Thermacell mosquito repellent along with my Litefighter tent. I find it offers pretty good mosquito protection. Citronella candles work well too. Rock on.

Simon, Great video as they all are. You sacrificed yourself to the mosquitos and as your video progressed, I watched you turn into a giant bug bite. Well....you took one for the team. We love ya for it. As for stuff to put on, KZbin Nessmuck bug dope. Old old recipe but the stuff works. A few ingredients and you should have enough on hand for the year. I personally would add in some pine resin and some beeswax. This would turn Nessmuck's bug dope into more of a salve or balm. Longer lasting. I make one that I call Bugs Be Bugging Out. Good luck I hope you make the big dope and you could even do it in one of your videos in the bush. Keep up the great work. I look forward, every week, to your videos.

I hear that ThermaCELL mosquito repellents work really good is you don't like putting chemicals on your skin. Although they're a little expensive people say they're worth it because they keep your area mosquito free without a lot of fuss. Maybe in your case you might need two or three of them spread around your camp with the mosquito infestation you have. Consider yourself lucky though because where I live we mosquitoes all year round cause it rarely reaches freezing here.

No idea about Croatian mozzies but Aussie mozzies hate citronella. Get some citronella candles, mozzie coils and of course repellant and remember it. You can spray your clothes, tent, pack etc with permethrin. Only female mozzies bite, looking for food to feed their young. They are also attracted to dark clothing and the carbon dioxide you breathe out (so don't breathe, wear a sheet and you'll be ok hahaha). The ones that make the annoying buzz are males, looking to attract females. The males don't bite. I have suffered like you did when I was in Far North Queensland with the army and I feel for you. I had 103 bites but got off easy; one bloke had to be medevaced out he was so badly bitten. Don't forget the repellant! Love your no nonesense style,
