I've done a lot of PoTD solo (record is 175) and grouped up with some friends who normally do savage to do the new deep dungeon when it dropped. I was in a voice call with them and helping direct things. After we were done they commented on how they could tell I'm a deep dungeon player. Apparently my mindset for approaching things is something entirely unfamiliar to them

Another is you don't pull a mob until you've ceased motion. Don't walk into it, no walking as you do a ranged throw. The okay time to pull is when you've stopped long enough for latency to catch up.

I've found doing solo deep dungeon to be way more enjoyable, as every group I've done it with I either gotta teach a bunch of sprouts the inner machinations of Yoshi P's mind, or they're people who only subscribe to play Deep Dungeon and literally run through every level like an 8 y/o on nose snow.

there was a rumor that the servers have strict anti cheating measures, but sloppy netcode for movement, so the game forgets to track you for a second and zips you to where you are in the server and bam you exceeded light speed for a fraction of a second and get expelled

POTD is a beautiful and efficient way to break your confidence and happiness. I remember my very first solo experience being special. I stepped on so many landmines on the second floor (52nd) that I was able to be mailed back to Quarrymill in a Lalafell shoebox.

Fun fact, the RNG to PotD can be used for drinking games. The most dangerous one I've seen someone attempt thus far was "Take a shot every time we see a Silver Chest" back when PotD was still new, may have had one run of 21-30 with 47 silvers total >.>

I did a solo PotD once. I just wanted to get the Lonely Explorer Title (get through floors 1-100 solo and die on a 101 or higher floor). Though, I wanted to see how far I could go. I think I got past floor 120 and gave up just so I can get my title.

On my very first ever solo POTD run, I made it to floor 100 and only lost because I forgot how the boss's unique mechanic basically REQUIRES you to use poms of resolution and never tells you that. .... I then spent the next five or six runs dying well before then, to luring traps, to lag spikes, to listening too much to background youtube videos and getting ambushed from behind by patrols.... just on and on. It's been incredibly frustrating, not gonna lie! A couple nights ago with a friend in Eureka Orthos took the cake, though: Engaged a mob with a self-destruct mechanic, so we were watching it like hawks. Since we weren't paying enough attention to other things, we then got hit from behind by a patrolling Bast, which used its Scythe Tail. The knockback from the scythe sent us forward, into the room.... where we collided with a land mine. The bast then used its followup Leap attack to one-shot us. Deep Dungeons, everybody!

It’s honestly overall pretty easy but since most solo deep dungeons are done by casuals, they think it’s hard cause it’s the hardest thing they’ve done compared to normal raids or alliance raids. It’s so boring that high end raiders don’t really bother tackling it unless there’s literally nothing else for them to do.

@@delix8869 as someone who does high end raiding- soloing POTD was much more difficult than anything else i've tackled in the game. mechanically it's not complex or complicated, but its a mental marathon where decision making (especially in floors 170+) is crucial and making a poor choice mixed with some poor luck can cost you 12-13 hours of progress. The higher in the floors you go, the better you need to be at controlling your nerves as you realize everything that's at stake. Back to floor 1 if you mess up. In an ultimate raid if you mess up and wipe, its annoying but you're only set back maybe 15-20 minutes before youre back to where you were in the fight.

Solo means that you tackle the dungeon by yourself!
