I was about to ask Adam, is it really July where you are? XD The hoodie, this comment, & the pot of something hot to bring the listener home all sound more like winter fare. What's boiling over is the temperature where I'm at, so I'm not feeling that part. (Great tutorial though!)

Cmon man, this is too good. Before watching this I was feelin in a total rut about my solo playing and hearing the forth bass movements is getting stale through my overuse of it. Feeling relieved knowing I have this concept mapped out by you. Thanks once again Adam.

This is so wonderful! I've been practicing some of these inversions while watching the herbie hancock masterclass, and I've been so amazed. It's like a whole new universe has been opened up, where I'm like, wow, that's what Bill was doing. It's just amazing. Thanks for this awesome lesson!

It is very valuable, Adam. I have seen such chords in the books of Bill Evans and I wondered why they are so because I could not define them. Now things are clearing up. I am very grateful to you !!

Wow, these are fantastic, thanks! I have a question/request- When I want to voice an inversion/slash chord, there's very little guidance I've found in any jazz book/resource- please can you give guidance on how to voice chords without the root in the bass (that aren't Bill Evans rootless voicings! More like the chords in these etudes...)

The 2nd example in the 3rd group (Descending Bass) includes a C7 with an Eb, which is the sharp 9, not the flat 9. That chord isn't native to the Ab ma6 diminished scale.

In the first example of ii7, V7, Ima7 voicings, the ii7 voicings are Drop 2 and 4. The V7 and Ima7 are Drop 2. Why the change in structure? Why not be consistent throughout?

However, I do have a concern about certain voicings. In classical harmony, the leading tone is never doubled, and doubling it in soprano and bass is even worse (it's a mortal sin). The reason is that the leading tone has an obliged movement towards the next chord (which would then lead to a very exposed parallel octave). These Bb7 voicings with the D at the top and bottom are bad (same with Cb at the top and bottom, for the same reasons).
