Some thoughts: I love people hearing this album for the first time, this video definitely feels like listening to it with a friend. The Place Where He Inserted The Blade is genuinely my vote for best piece of recorded music ever. Everything about it makes sense, as both a recording and as a piece of music it's one of those things that seems simply inevitable-- there are some things that simply have to exist and exist exactly as they do. Mathematician Paul Erdos, of truly great proofs, said that they were "from the book", referring to his belief of a book in heaven of all of the most perfect proofs of all of the mathematical theorems. This song is from The Book. Also wanted to point out the pianist, May Kershaw, who also sings background vocals on this album-- all of my favorite moments from BCNR's discography are basically because of her playing. I wouldn't necessarily say that she's the stand-out member of the band, no individual is, but I notice the piano more than any other instrument. She sang lead and played accordion and piano on The Boy from Live At Bush Hall, which I very much recommend checking out.

The band has one more studio album that came out before this one but sadly right before AFUT was released, Issac Wood (the singer) left the band. They have a live album that came out last year thats really good too, just this time 3 of the other members take turns singing lead vocals. Seeing how much you liked this one I really hope you check out the others :)

good taste :-) snow globes is experimental yeah and not for everyone but it might be one that grows on you, not from the first listen!! its one of the most incredible on the album aside from basketball shoes (which by the way, listen to the live version, its one of the most wonderful things) its so gutwrenching, the build-up and the climax of snow globes are so emotional. the drums remind me of turbulence like the concorde plane motif or like shaking a snow globe

YO HE DID IT! FIRE VID!!! insane first listen and glad you loved this! (also someone else mentioned this but quadeca dropped a mixtape recently and its really interesting to say the least) I gotta share some cool thoughts from this : -the main singer Isaac, is no longer with the band citing mental health, but he left on good terms. but you can really feel the emotion and care he and the band put into these songs. -in Chaos Space Marine as the song is ending they make references to future tracks like a preview : billie eilish style (good will hunting), a concorde will fly (concorde lmfao), ignore the hole i've dug again (haldren). -in Concorde, the image of climbing so high for someone just to "look for your light", but from the perspective of the Concorde (probs the love interest in the song), the gentle hill racer is tiny, as we all look like ants from up there. (stole this from the genius page lmfaoo) -the whole album to me feels like someone who's really dependent and in love with another person but things just don't work out, the desperation really shows in the singer's voice for me. as much as the man wanna move he he just can't. It especially on Good Will Hunting, The Place Where He Inserted The Blade and GODDAMN on Basketball Shoes. -the original lyrics for Basketball Shoes were about the main singer having wet dreams about Charlie XCX "in my bedsheets now wet, of charlie I pray to forget". crazy how he made this song from that starting point LMFAO. In the music nerd side of the internet people absolute LOVE this album and I can really see why. It's a lot of emotion for it to be something I'd personally listen to often but I do agree with the 10/10 rating u gave lol. fire vid!
