Solo Truck Camping with a Concussion

I am a U of M researcher currently working on a concussion study. When you asked how do you know if you have a concussion, the first thing I said out loud 😂, did your bell get rung! Your dad was right also. I just subscribed. After all, I have watched a lot of your videos in the last week. I enjoy them. In addition to working my job remotely, I am a full time caregiver to my husband and we don't travel now. I miss it. Thank you for the tremendous hard work you do making interesting and entertaining travel videos. I am praying for you and especially for Blue's healing. He is so smart! Blessings.

Wow, that could be scary! Glad you’re okay. If you hit your head and DON’T see a big bump (and blood) on the outside, that’s when you worry!! Because then that means “the bump” is on the inside and that’s a bad concussion. I’ve worked as a surgical assistant for over a decade where we specialize in giving people a checkup from the neck up! 🤕

I hope you heal soon. My wife fell off a latter and got a goose bump on her head a few years back and it was about a month before she could sleep on that side of her head. No worries if this takes some time to heal. So glad your dad is a great resource there for you. Best Wishes Maria

I met a little blue this week. She was 11 weeks old and looked just like blue, but small. Her humans were training in the park when I did a double take. I thought it was blue but then I didn't see a Maria around. Take care of yourself Maria and keep in your med kit some instant cold packs. They'd bring down that swelling and make you feel better fast.

I highly recommend chopping up a handful of baby spinach in your salad too. It has so many nutrients lettuce doesn’t have and you can’t even taste it. I mix it in with the lettuce.

Santa fe, it is where i have lived for almost 40 years. I love it, the sunsets are always beautiful. I worked at the hospital since 1984. A Consussion is not the only head injury you can get. You can get a contusion and a bleed. A hit to the head should be checked out for sure.

I hope you have a good medical kit. If not you need one. You can get those instant ice packs for injuries. You just break a cell inside the pack and it becomes instantly cold, and they also have heat ones. Please get yourself a well stocked medical kit. Take care and be safe. ❤️

On a visit that my husband and i went on we went through the Grand Canyon we stopped along the highway and picked up some jewelry that was made by the navajo woman in the village. Concussions r serious. Just take care of yourself and do what u need to do to feel better.

New Mexico is God's Country...:-) I grew up in Santa Fe (2nd oldest city in the US, established in 1607). If you go the first week of September you'd be there for Santa Fe Fiesta....which we've been celebrating since 1711

Maria I love the mountains also. My sister lives in Santa Fe. She said it’s been as low as 14 degrees. Frost on the ground. You need to be careful with your head!!!

Your dad is pretty cool. I love it when my daughter calls me...even for silly things or questions. The Land of Enchantment does not disappoint. I love the state and as a van lifer myself I thought about living in the state parks system for $250 for an entire year. You may have had a minor concussion. Your pupils looked equal and reactive to light change. Just be careful. I love your dog.

If you could do that once, you could do it again. If it was me, I would find a way to wrap something around that part of the ladder, just that corner that pokes out. Some sort of padding around that corner/edge. At the very least wrap some hefty tape around it (both sides/corners) to lessen the impact.

Another beautiful but scary video. Dad was being over dramatic. You should have had that checked. I'm hlad you're feeling better but if the headache doesn't subside, you still should have it checked.
