I think this is the earliest I've ever been. This is just lovely, Paul. I love watching how nakedly _happy_ you always are, to be out in the wild. This Australian stuck in another lockdown for the 2nd month running wouldn't survive without your content to vicariously free her, so thank you. ❤

@@triggercky9928 thank you, I'm fortunate to be in Canberra, instead of Melbourne. We've been one of the luckier spots in that when the plague first hit, our leaders responded extremely fast + it was gotten under control very quickly, so our lockdown was reasonably short & then we didn't have any other issues for months. But recently some Sydneysiders made some very foolish + selfish decisions which caused us to have to enter lockdown again, & we're in the 2nd month of it currently. Which is frustrating, but compared to the year or so of consistent lockdowns + travel restrictions that poor Melbourne has had to deal with, we're getting off lightly.

Great little tent, used one for over a decade in my local lakes and all kinds of weather. Never let me down, it was only that the hem of the fly and the seam sealing tape started to give out that I replaced it.....with a zephyros 2, my goto quick pitch budget tents.

I bought one of these in July. Cracking tent. held up well for an entire night of fairly heavy rain. Easy to set up, even I can understand how to do it. I am going to the Yorkshire Dales this weekend to give it another outing.

Love that place. I live here - spend a lot of my time walking that hill and all the other ones you can see from the top (Shining Tor, Roaches, Three Shires Head). In fact my wife has instructions to ensure my ashes are scattered up there! Have been up a few times at night but never camped because, as you found out, it gets very busy. Also the farmers house is directly below and I figured he would be up to move me on. May try it with a Bivi one night. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

Wild Country Zephros 1 was my first tent (a few months ago). I loved the way it looked and liked the large porch space. Also having closable vents is really great for the colder weather. Sadly Wild Country sent me a 'well' used tent from Amazon that had muck on it and loads of down feathers everywhere. Not against waste or anything but repurposed tents really ought to be spotless. I found it a bit tricky to set up nice and tort + for me being 6ft I did find having the inner fly a few inches away from my face was a bit too much. Eventually I sent it back, but one thing I found was the carry bag with all the fancy compression straps weighs well over 100g. I ended up storing it in a bin bag that compressed just as well and ended up weighing next to nothing.

nice camp. I also have this tent. All my videos are me camping using the zephros 1 compact. I even did the west highland Way in it a few months ago. It never let me down! It's definitely light, but i would disagree with the comments on saying theres plenty space.. it's pretty small inside, but I love the porch area for storing wet backpack/boots and cooking. Quite tricky to pitch well.. you did a good job if thats your first time! Enjoy

I used to love my zephyros tent. Served me well in some harsh conditions too. I’m puzzled as to why they haven’t addressed the door situation. Needs a toggle to tie it back. Everyone complained about that lack of feature. Trusty clothes peg method in use I see 😂 good to see you back out. Not so good all those folks. So late and so early. Don’t they know the wildcampers rule. Pitch late leave early? Atb mate 👍
@CragScrambler3 жыл бұрын
There's a T toggle on the bottom of the door and a hoop on the inner tent at the top to tie the door back, there always has been, easy to miss though. Can see it on the video at 8:38 the black toggle on the inner tent. Though the looks like it's reversed on those newer versions. Inner tent also had same hoop and toggle to roll down too.

ZCL: Attend to your ablutions during the hours of darkness perhaps, to spare your embarrassment. Dig a hole, poo in hole, wipe with tissue, put tissue in hole, add some squirts of hand sanitizer to tissue. Set alight to tissue, this reduces it to ash. Splash some water over ash to ensure any sparks are extinguished. Fill in hole with the soil you dug out. Use more sanitizer on hands to kill any bacteria. Job done.

Paul, I would highly recommend you pick up a regular S2S Ether Light XT Insulated (or large for that matter). Not much heavier and colder than a Neo Air and a whole lot more comfortable. Additionally, it's a lot more comfortable I find than the S2S Ultralight Insulated with the larger air sprung cells, and much lighter and much less bulky than a Ether Light XT Extreme which for me is just comically large. In my opinion, it's the sleeping pad sweet spot.
