Welcome back to my channel! In today’s heartfelt video titled "Wild Camping Saved My Life," I return to the beloved Kinder Scout, where a spontaneous decision to escape the clutches of depression and anxiety leads me to a transformative wild camping experience.
In this video, you'll experience:
🚶‍♂️ The Decision: Starting from a low point at home, feeling overwhelmed by depression and anxiety, I make the pivotal choice to seek solace in nature.
🏞️ Kinder Scout Retreat: Discover how I found a perfect camping spot sheltered from the wind on the iconic Kinder Scout, a place that promises not just shelter but also peace.
⛺ Unexpected Company: Meeting two fellow campers seeking refuge from the relentless wind, and how sharing our space fostered a sense of community.
🌿 Healing Through Nature: The dramatic and palpable shift in my mental state from the start to the end of the trip.
🌟 Conclusion: Reflections on how this wild camping trip significantly improved my mental health and reinforced the vital role of nature in personal healing.
This journey is not just about escaping everyday life but about demonstrating the powerful impact of wild camping and nature on mental health. It's a testimony to how stepping back into nature can be a step forward for mental wellness.

Life is worth living for sure, life with its peaks and troughs. Solo wild camping is something I am planning to start doing again before the end of Autumn, been watching a lot of wild camping videos. I done 1 solo wild camp back in July 2019 and I loved it. Getting away from civilisation for a couple of nights is definitely good for you. I have now subscribed, thank you

wow, looking through your content I can see so many similarities with myself , I too have struggled with mental health and I have even had to say goodbye to people who didn't manage to beat the daemons. I myself am a postman and find it the most therapeutic job I could have ever found , it doesn't mean I never struggle, but I found it does make me see how beautiful the world can be. I you ever need a camp buddy near west Yorkshire give me a message, I would love to expand my group of camping mates.

Thanks for sharing Fuzzy. I understand your problems I'm 53 and have suffered from depression and anxiety most of my life. I've just finished walking the Cleveland way this dinner time after 5 and a half days after losing my mother in march and my two dogs just before Christmas. I'm in digs in Filey watching this and wondering what lies for me and my future when I get home to my empty house. Just remember you are brave for making videos and if you ever want to come along with me on my walks or up to the lakes leave me a reply. I'm from Lancashire.

I really look forward to your videos Sir, they are truly inspiring. Like many of your viewers I too am suffering badly with my mental demons, lately they have made me basically house bound due to stress and the pressures of life. Looking forward to be able to have the confidence that you possess, and getting myself on my own journey to being mentally mended. Keep up the great work and once again well done on producing such excellent content.

Ha! Camped there with my mate a couple of weeks ago. Cracking spot! Had to do some house cleaning though, using some bracken to sweep away the sheep shit. We parked in Hope and walked up from that side.

Hello fuzzy. I like your channel, you seem like a alright guy. I have similar struggles with depression anxiety, panic attacks and such, it been a constant battle for years. I,m 54. Two years ago I started doing yoga and meditation, for me it’s been a game changer. It’s cleared my head and helped me find peace, quitting alcohol, wild camping and yoga has saved my life. Try yoga for 30 days see how you feel, fuck the alcohol off aswell that shit is no good for your brain, it’s a depressant. You want to get well get rid of the poison. Good luck pal , keep going it’ll get easier.

You are the master of your own mind! However real proud of you Fuzzy for recognizing you were in need of some physical exercise to assist your anxiety issue. Very generous of you welcome fellow campers to your spot. I'm not so generous and like my solitude.

Hi Fuzzy, well done mate, you really show us all how to beat the dreaded black dog. I did subscribe last week but then unsubscribed because I just couldnt face another video of you telling us all about how mental illness saved your life. Im sorry, I should never have done that, we all need the example that you show us - keep doing what you are doing and thank you for sharing your experiences. Peace x

Sometimes you have to dig deep and push yourself. My mental health has been really low. Flaring with Crohns and on new biological meds. Lost my Father to bowel cancer 3 days after my birthday and also my Mother from stroke and multiple tumours 10 months ago. Really need to find some energy and drive to get out there. My son doesn't wanna talk anymore but I'm proud he's doing well at University.

ive been suffering for about 40 years on and off, nothing really helped, and the things that might help are pretty much unobtainium for me. But one thing i can attest... if you find a nice spot , you feel safe, a nice fuzzy feeling for at least a short while...you got plenty of hydration with you, maybe some fruit....and some Mushrooms, it might just give you a reprieve you havent had in a LOOOOooooong time...carthatic, ecstactic, emotional...all sorts of things...and its manageable ..for about 3 to 4 hours so you dont have to panic if you feel weird. Its gonna go away very soon.

@@LeeFuzzy For me, who didn't think I suffered from anxiety until lockdown and my "normal" tight chest vanished. The drive to not let people down, drives me. Everyone I know, now knows I'm out on a Friday after work and asks about it. I can't stop. 🤣 However, I gain the benefit.

What a lovely video. I feel a bit bad barging I on your pitch last night haha. Especially after seeing how happy you were to get it to yourself. So thank you for being gracious enough to share it with us. It was very much appreciated. It was my first time up on Emily's local camping grounds and it was so much fun. Nice to meet you mate and great video. I'll be looking forward to the next one. Its amazing what a difference the wild makes to your state of mind so hopefully we'll see you up there again some time. Take it easy buddy.

I would of said no to them, the whole purpose is to have that solitude, cheeky sods should of moved on, let’s face it if you had seen them at the spot before you set up you would of looked for another spot, honestly there is a wild camping code not to infringe on someone’s camp space, they took the piss big time. That said i’m enjoying your vids , keep kicking yourself up the ass mate 👍
