Grundy is the perfect bad guy. He can be fierce and dangerous, or meek and vulnerable. He's not driven by a lust for power or money. He doesn't care about politics or nations. He has enough magic that the idea of him fighting Superman AND Batman, and both giving him a good fight, is believable. The writers also don't have to worry about killing him off because coming back is built into his story.

His stats change randomly when he's resurrected so he can be big and strong enough to hurt Superman or well-spoken and meek. His memories can be completely gone or he can remember every instance of his lives. I will say that Cyrus Gold IS a greedy criminal with no problem killing people which is why his intelligent forms usually lean toward being evil (and angry at dying all those times)

I like how he's often depicted as being confused at times - like he has no idea why he's truly there in the first place. In other words, I enjoy the Frankenstein's monster motif he gives off - as both characters are undead (well, one was reanimated via scientific means, the other is a full fledged supernatural undead) that just wish to be left alone, and if that's not possible be treated well. In *Batman: The Long Halloween* Batman treats Grundy with a sense of respect, that being due to the fact someone he was chasing ran into Grundy's territory in the sewers therefore intruding into his home. Batman is able to reason with him to give the criminal to him, promising Grundy he'll make sure he stays out and never comes back to his home - sealing the deal with a promise for him to be left alone. At the end of Part One of the Two Parts (Story was split into two movies), Batman even brings Grundy a plate of food for him to eat, to which he happily takes with him whilst Bats stands out of sight to make sure he's able to get it. Grundy's not a villain like many people say: he's easily manipulated by others to do the dirty work for them and misunderstood by both the good and bad guys save for the few that do

Talk about writers not knowing source material, Grundy actually does speak. He also wouldn’t have backed down from a fight as he believes he’s the mightiest there is. This is such a watered down version of Grundy I cringed at this video, he can literally take blows from Superman and still fight back. During that first fight scene I was expecting at least a “Grundy crush you!” or something but got nothing but grunts and growls.

They stole or *reused* the hulk model from the ed Norton reboot. Without doubt. When he breaks out of the overpass at the building from the gas, emerges from the smoke and roars. That shot is side by side the literal same scene. All they did was change it to be Solomon. Matter of fact, Im pretty sure the entire model is reused as a basis for the every scene of Solomon Grundy.
