Thanks for the great off road review. Just picked one of these up 3 days ago in the top trim. Love it so far!

I just bought the Solterra less than a week ago. Thanks for showing what it can handle. Seems just as capable as the Outback I had before. I do go down some sketchy FS roads and I'm happy I can keep doing that.

Nice test. I like that you had a comparison car (Forester) to show what that could do as a basis for difficulty and then seeing the Solterra walk through it was pretty impressive.

By far the best video showing what the Solterra can do... Most videos on KZbin compare it to other EVs but forget, or they just don't know what the vehicle is capable of doing off-road.. Try that with your Tesla or Mustang Mach-E

Great review/comparison. I'm ready for an EV racecar too, once the ranges can handle a few 20 minute sessions and the weight drops. The idea of not having to worry about ICE engine/transmission failures on the track is highly intriguing.

My friend has a Toyota Venda small motor with 4 wheel electric ac motors. We flashed the trd tune in it and it had 400ftlbs of torque. We spanked an sti no problem. I was very impressed and it had a motor sound too. That’s the best of both worlds

Put just over 2200mi on a 24 Limited. Reviews tend to get hung up on the numbers, rather than the vehicle as a complete package. This is my 3rd EV in 10 years, and by far the most well rounded. As far as the range goes, seems rated pretty conservative. I'm getting 3.8mi per kWh (w/ climate control) which puts me at about 240mi of range. Highlights: 8.3 inches of ground clearance Symmetrical drive system w/ identical permanent magnet synchronous motors (always engaged) Heat pump equipped (outside of Tesla this is hard to find) Full LED lighting No phantom/vampire drain while parked (should be talked about more) Very comfortable Handles, and rides better than others I test drove Getting to work and back, and tooling around in the mountains around Central Oregon seems to be where this car belongs.

Thanks for the video and thoughts! I traded my 2022 Forester for a 2023 Solterra. Love everything about the car with the exception of the battery charging time and range.

It's supposed to be a safety feature for pedestrians since the car is so quiet. It's only supposed to ring when driving under 20km/h or something I think
